MelanomaNext is a next generation sequencing panel that simultaneously analyzes 9 genes associated with increased risk for melanoma and other cancers. Testing to be considered in case of presence of multiple primary melanomas, melanoma and kidney cancer (or mesothelioma) in the same person, or close relatives on the same side of family and a family history of a mutation in a gene that predisposes to melanoma.
BAP1 (BRCA1 Associated Protein 1), BRCA2 (Breast cancer 2, early onset), CDK4 (Cyclin-dependent kinase 4), CDKN2A (Cyclin Dependent Kinase Inhibitor 2A), MITF (Melanocyte Inducing Transcription Factor), POT1 (Protection of telomeres 1)
