BrainTumorNext is a next generation sequencing panel that simultaneously analyzes 29 genes associated with increased risk for brain tumors and other cancers/tumors. It can detect >99.9% of described mutations in the included genes, when present. Testing to be considered in Early-onset brain tumor(s) (diagnosed <50 years of age), Multiple primary cancers in one person (e.g. brain tumor and colorectal cancer), Multiple close relatives on the same side of the family with brain tumors or A family history of a mutation in a gene that predisposes to brain tumors.
Cancer:
Brain Cancer, Colorectal Cancer
Gene:
ALK (Anaplastic lymphoma kinase), APC (APC Regulator Of WNT Signaling Pathway), CDKN1B (Cyclin dependent kinase inhibitor 1B), CDKN2A (Cyclin Dependent Kinase Inhibitor 2A), EPCAM (Epithelial cell adhesion molecule), MLH1 (MutL homolog 1)
