Yes I agree, people with cancer are more likely to be diagnosed with another. I kept up my screening. Imagine if I hadn't, survived melanoma but ended up with advanced ocular melanoma (which I found early enough via my eye tests!) For which there is no treatment! (@KarenvanGorp)

I am so sorry about your dad. Ocular melanoma is an awful cancer. My husband is stage 4 OM in liver. We are always searching for hope and are thankful for any research for all patients. Again my condolences to you for your loss (@Abbeyandsmokey)

The "standard of care" for choroidal melanoma, after treatment of the primary is to get an MRI of the liver every 6 months for 5 to 10 years. As far as I know, there has never been a trial showing that this improves survival or is any better than CT scans every 6 months. (@davideyoungmd)

My old coworker's daughter had ocular melanoma. Had her eye removed. 6 months later it had spread to the liver. She drank alkaline water shipped from Hawaii. She died 6 months later. (@heytheredude)
