A brief description of HIF-1α's role and target in a few common types of hematological malignancies (leukemia) is also elucidated in the present article.

At 14 d after injury, the protein expression level of EGFR in the wound tissue of rats in roxadustat+salvia miltiorrhiza group was significantly higher than the levels in the other 3 groups (with P values all 0.05). Roxadustat combined with salvia miltiorrhiza can promote the wound healing of full-thickness skin defects in diabetic rats by promoting blood vessel regeneration and reducing inflammatory response.

Our study suggests cytoplasmic over expression of HIF1A, nuclear over expression of MTA1 and mutated p53 in the primary tumor tissue of TNBC have significance as markers predicting survival of TNBC patients.

Hypoxia-associated markers in the prognosis of oral canine melanoma. (PubMed, Vet Pathol)
These findings reinforce the role of an hypoxic microenvironment in tumor progression and patient outcome in COMM, as previously established in several human and canine cancers. In addition, hypoxic markers may represent promising prognostic markers, highlighting opportunities for their use in therapeutic strategies for COMMs.

RUVBL1 in Clear-Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma: Unraveling Prognostic Significance and Correlation with HIF1A. (PubMed, Cancers (Basel))
Furthermore, high expression of both RUVBL1 and HIF-1α proteins was significantly associated with shorter patient survival time. Our findings underscore the significance of RUVBL1 and HIF-1α as potential prognostic markers in ccRCC, paving the way for further research to translate these insights into clinically relevant applications.

The roles of WNK1 on cisplatin resistance were explored using CCK-8, colony formation, and flow cytometry in vitro...In xenograft tumor tissues, the downregulation of WNK1 significantly reduced HIF-1α expression. These data demonstrated that the CREB1/WNK1 axis could promote the tumorigenesis of ovarian cancer via accelerating HIF-1 expression, suggesting that the CREB1/WNK1 axis could be a potential target during the therapy of ovarian cancer.

We previously developed a transgenic mouse model (KrTB) containing a doxycycline- (dox) controlled, Tet-responsive element system to selectively overexpress Bmi1 in the tongue basal epithelial SCs...Finally, using a human oral keratinocyte line (OKF6-TERT1R), we showed that ectopic Bmi1 overexpression decreases the oxygen consumption rate while increasing the extracellular acidification rate, indicative of elevated glycolysis. Thus, our data demonstrate that high Bmi1 expression drives hypoxic signaling, including metabolic reprogramming, in normal oral cavity epithelia.
