Development and validation of an MBD3/UHRF1 methylation-regulator-based prognostic model for pancreatic cancer survival. (PubMed, Transl Cancer Res)
Drug sensitivity analysis further revealed that the low-risk group exhibited enhanced responses to epirubicin (P<0.001), irinotecan (P<0.001), and Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors (niraparib P<0.001, olaparib P<0.001), suggesting potential therapeutic implications. Our findings suggest that the prognostic model, which is based on MBD3 and UHRF1 expression, may improve prognostic stratification in PCA patients and assess drug efficacy. This model represents a step toward epigenetic-based oncology, though its impact on treatment decisions remains to be validated.

Genome-wide Mendelian randomization identifies drugs associated with body height. (PubMed, Transl Pediatr)
Interactive drugs were identified, including amoxicillin, atenolol, infliximab, colchicine, propionyl-L-carnitine, BMN-111, and tamoxifen, which were known to have a positive effect on height. Our results suggest that many genes have causal effects on height. By interrogating drug-gene interactions, interactive drugs have been identified as having both positive and negative effects on growth, which would help make clinical decisions.

Uncovering immune cell-associated genes in breast cancer: based on summary data-based Mendelian randomized analysis and colocalization study. (PubMed, Breast Cancer Res)
In summary, our research has revealed a repertoire of genes within diverse immune cells associated with breast cancer. KCNN4 gene in non-classical MONOcytes (MONOnc) exhibited a negative association with overall breast cancer and its subtypes, which was identified as a potential drug target for breast cancer, opening up new avenues for therapeutic interventions.
