Validation and Refinement of the European LeukemiaNet 2022 Genetic Risk Stratification of AML. (PubMed, JCO Glob Oncol)
We conclude that ELN22 is prognostically valid in intensively treated younger patients with AML. Incorporation of WT1 mutation status, triple-mutated NPM1, and LSC burden may improve risk stratification, particularly within the heterogeneous intermediate-risk category.

Fluid Overload-Associated Large B-Cell Lymphoma Presenting as Isolated Pleural Effusion. (PubMed, Hematol Rep)
Ultimately, the patient was diagnosed with fluid overload-associated large B-cell lymphoma and treated with rituximab, cyclophosphamide, vincristine sulfate, and prednisone, but passed away three months after diagnosis. It may be mistaken for other conditions such as primary effusion lymphoma or other diffuse large B-cell lymphomas. The presence of a Human Herpesvirus-8-negative effusion-based lymphoma in an elderly immunocompetent patient without nodal or tissue involvement should prompt consideration of fluid overload-associated large B-cell lymphoma.

CIAPIN1 improves sepsis-induced acute kidney injury by inhibiting mitochondrial damage. (PubMed, Pathol Res Pract)
Ciapin1 knockdown exacerbated renal tissue injury, apoptosis, mitochondrial damage, and inflammation in a murine AKI model induced by cecal ligation and puncture. This study uncovers the CIAPIN1-OPA1 signaling axis as a novel mechanistic basis for SA-AKI, wherein it regulates mitochondrial function, inflammatory response, and cellular apoptosis in renal tissues under septic stress.

Metastatic high-grade undifferentiated ovarian carcinoma: A case report from Sub-Saharan Africa. (PubMed, Gynecol Oncol Rep)
UDOC is a rare and aggressive malignancy that often presents at an advanced stage with nonspecific gastrointestinal symptoms and widespread metastases. This case highlights the intersection of aggressive tumor biology and structural healthcare barriers that continue to limit access to timely cancer diagnosis and treatment in resource-constrained settings, underscoring persistent disparities in global cancer care delivery.

Curculigoside Induces Ferroptosis in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Cells Through a Mechanism Involving Wilms' Tumor 1-Associating Protein-Mediated m6A Modification of GTP Cyclohydrolase 1. (PubMed, Chem Biol Drug Des)
Moreover, overexpression of GCH1 reversed Cur-induced ferroptosis and malignant phenotype inhibition in A549 and H520 NSCLC cells. Our study suggested that Cur induced ferroptosis and suppressed malignant phenotypes in NSCLC in part through the WTAP-GCH1 axis, thereby revealing a novel mechanism for its therapeutic potential.

Isolation and Characterization of 5-(1-Hydroxyethyl)-Dihydro-2-Furanone from Angiopteris evecta with Potent Anti-Inflammatory and Anti-Leukemic Activities. (PubMed, Int J Mol Sci)
003 and the ternary mixture suppressed TNF-α and IL-6 production in LPS-stimulated macrophages. Collectively, A. evecta-derived furanone compounds represent promising lead candidates for anti-leukemic drug development.

Anti-Leukemic Properties of Curcumin on Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia: A Systematic Review. (PubMed, Biology (Basel))
Curcumin exerts multi-targeted anti-leukemic effects in ALL. Clinical translation is constrained by its poor bioavailability and limited clinical data. Future research should focus on improving the bioavailability of curcumin via chemical or pharmaceutical modification, as well as conducting well-designed clinical trials.

Testicular microcystic stromal tumor: a case report with MRI findings and literature review. (PubMed, Am J Transl Res)
This represents the first reported case of testicular MST with MRI findings, and its distinctive imaging features correlate with the tumor's unique histological structure. In this study, we comprehensively analyzed the clinical, radiological, histological, and immunohistochemical characteristics of this case and compared them with previously documented features in the literature, aiming to enhance the understanding of this rare entity and facilitate accurate diagnosis.

The WT 1-AS/miR-206 axis regulates the proliferation and migration of breast cancer through the cuproptosis related gene BCL11A. (PubMed, Transl Cancer Res)
Our study elucidates a novel ceRNA network, the WT1-AS/miR-206/BCL11A axis, which regulates BC progression and modulates cuproptosis. These findings provide fresh insights into BC biology and highlight potential diagnostic and therapeutic targets centered on cuproptosis regulation.

PAX8-positive conventional urothelial carcinomas of the urinary bladder and their distinct molecular profiles - A clinicopathologic study of 101 consecutive cases with next-generation sequencing in 20 cases. (PubMed, Histopathology)
A subset of conventional UCs of the urinary bladder without subtype morphology and/or divergent differentiation are PAX8-positive and have frequent alterations in TERT promoter, TSC1, NOTCH1, and WT1, with an absence of RB1 loss. PAX8 positivity should be interpreted with caution if UC is in the differential, and NGS could be helpful in diagnostic workups as this study shows PAX8-positive UCs may have a distinct molecular profile.
