Rewiring immune evasion in liver metastases: WNT11 as a central node - a mini review. (PubMed, Front Oncol)
Additionally, circulating WNT11 levels may also serve as a predictive biomarker for patient stratification and treatment monitoring. Despite challenges related to pathway complexity and tumor heterogeneity, this mini review synthesizes recent advances in understanding the WNT11-driven tumor-immune axis and proposes a translational roadmap for combination strategies to overcome ICB resistance in liver metastasis.

Gene Expression Profiling Provides an Improved Characterization of CD79B-Mutated Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphomas. (PubMed, J Pers Med)
TP53 mutation showed an association with poorer overall survival in a secondary analysis, consistent with prior reports, while survival by CD79B/MYD88 mutation status and the differentially expressed genes showed no significant differences in this cohort. In conclusion, the current study identified novel up-regulated genes in CD79B-mutated DLBCLs beyond NF-κB pathway signaling, which may contribute to a better definition of potential therapeutic targets and further improves the characterization of this distinct and aggressive DLBCL subgroup.

Comprehensive bioinformatics analysis reveals prognostic significance and immunological roles of WNT gene family in breast cancer. (PubMed, Sci Rep)
Furthermore, co-expression and drug sensitivity analyses revealed that WNTs influence the efficacy of multiple anti-cancer agents, offering potential targets for precision oncology. This study provides novel insights into the multifaceted role of WNT genes in BRCA, identifying them as promising prognostic indicators and immunotherapeutic targets that warrant further clinical exploration.

Polymorphisms and environmental factors associated with orofacial clefts as potential markers for oral cancer risk. (PubMed, Braz Oral Res)
However, place of residence (adjusted OR:5.46, p < 0.001, 95%CI: 3.76-63.543), and three genetic variants-rs1533767 (OR: 1.94, p = 0.042, 95%CI: 1.018-3.694), rs3923087 (OR: 0.58, p = 0.038, 95%CI: 0.344-0.974), rs11867417 (OR: 0.51, p = 0.010, 95%CI: 0.304-0.857)-were associated with oral potentially malignant disorders and oral squamous cell carcinoma. These findings suggest that specific environmental risk factors and genetic variants may be associated with increased susceptibility to oral potentially malignant disorders and oral cancer.

GRK5 as a Novel Therapeutic Target for Immune Evasion in Testicular Cancer: Insights from Multi-Omics Analysis and Immunotherapeutic Validation. (PubMed, Biomedicines)
Complementary immunological validation established that specific targeting of GRK5 with the selective antagonist GRK5-IN-2 disrupts immune evasion pathways in testicular cancer, as quantified by T-cell-mediated cytotoxicity. These findings position GRK5 as a critical modulator of tumor-immune escape, warranting further preclinical exploration of GRK5-IN-2 as a candidate immunotherapeutic agent.

Poly- and per-fluoroalkyl substances toxicity on skeletal and cognitive well-being: a comprehensive review. (PubMed, J Environ Sci Health C Toxicol Carcinog)
Further research is required in several areas, such as age-specific toxicological effects of PFAS, impact of various other PFAS compounds beyond perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), and involvement of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors in PFAS-induced toxicity. Regarding brain toxicity, extensive research in adults is required as there is currently a relative scarcity of studies in this age group when compared to the available research conducted on children and older individuals.

Developmental toxicity assay of xanthatin in zebrafish embryos. (PubMed, Comp Biochem Physiol C Toxicol Pharmacol)
Mitophagy related genes pink1 and parkin, and wnt pathway (β-catenin, wnt8a and wnt11) were significantly increased after xanthatin exposure. Taken together, our finding indicated that xanthatin induced developmental toxicity, and the ROS elevation, apoptosis activation, dysregulation of mitophagy and wnt pathways were involved in the toxicity caused by xanthatin.
