Vacuole Protein Sorting 18 (Vps18) Suppresses Epithelial Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) Expression and Tumorigenesis. (PubMed, J Biol Chem)
Strikingly, expression of dominant-negative EGFR (dnEGFR) partially suppresses the tumor-promoting effects of Vps18 loss. Our findings unveil a novel Vps18-EGFR-ERK axis in lung cancer and may inform the development of targeted therapeutic strategies.

Combined with the PLGA nanocarrier delivery system, the blood-brain barrier permeability and anti-tumor effect of BIBF were significantly enhanced. Targeting the BIBF-VPS18 pathway and optimizing drug delivery through nanotechnology may represent a new strategy for GBM treatment, providing innovative clinical treatment ideas and a theoretical basis for patients with GBM.

Ubiquitin-related gene markers predict immunotherapy response and prognosis in patients with epithelial ovarian carcinoma. (PubMed, Sci Rep)
It also exhibited lower tumor mutation burden, mRNAsi, and EREG-mRNAsi and reduced sensitivity to other chemotherapy drugs, except dasatinib. These findings serve as a valuable indicator for personalized treatment strategies and clinical stratification in managing patients with EOC. Additionally, our study will serve as a foundation for future mechanistic research to explore the association between the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway and EOC.

Targeting VPS18 hampers retromer trafficking of PD-L1 and augments immunotherapy. (PubMed, Sci Adv)
RDN exerted lung-preferred distribution and good bioavailability, suggesting a favorable drug efficacy. Together, our study links VPS18/11-mediated trans-Golgi network recycling of PD-L1 and points to a promising treatment strategy for the enhancement of antitumor immunity.

All proteins were associated with response to drug-resistant ovarian cancer resistant and were mechanistically connected to the pathways associated with cancer arrest. These results can be the basis for extending a biomarker discovery process to a clinical trial, as an early predictive tool of chemo-response to FOLFOX-4 of heavily treated ovarian cancer patients and for supporting the oncologist to continue or to interrupt the therapy.
