    This article ultimately provides a foundation for researchers to further investigate these interconnected processes and for clinicians to consider therapeutic strategies when managing patients with lung cancer. Given the multifaceted nature of lung cancer biology and the numerous molecules involved, we advocate for a panel-centered approach in both research and clinical management, while underscoring the importance of carefully considering toxicity risks and variability in molecular expression.

    Tissue-Derived Extracellular Vesicles Define Diagnostic Biomarkers for Renal Cell Carcinoma. (PubMed, J Extracell Vesicles)
    In an external validation cohort, an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.922 for low-grade ccRCC detection and 0.874 for high-grade ccRCC detection was achieved, respectively, using urinary EVs. Furthermore, integrating single-cell sequencing data revealed that SERPINA1 and VEGFA in low-grade ccRCC, and APOC1 and TGFBI in high-grade ccRCC, were derived from tumour-associated macrophages, whereas NDUFA4L2 originated from cancer cells in both low- and high-grade ccRCC.

    The effect of transperineal template prostate biopsy (TTPB) on selective serum biomarkers: a clinical-pilot observational study. (PubMed, Int Urol Nephrol)
    The significant increases in serum PDGF-AA and TGF-α, and significant decreases in serum EGF and Flt3 ligand could be explained by post-procedural inflammatory or paraneoplastic mechanisms. Further research into these biomarkers with larger cohorts may enable further understanding of their role pre- and post-operatively in TTPB and their correlation with clinical outcomes. This may be used to develop a clinical tool to predict or identify patients at risk of early post-TTPB complications.

    POFUT2 Mediated Fucosylation of JUP Enhances VEGFA Expression to Promote Angiogenesis in Colorectal Cancer. (PubMed, Int J Med Sci)
    High POFUT2 expression in CRC regulates JUP fucosylation, increasing JUP and VEGFA levels, which promotes angiogenesis. These findings suggest POFUT2 could serve as a prognostic marker for colorectal cancer, and targeting it may inhibit angiogenesis and aid in treatment.

    Identification and characterization of MARCO-expressing tumor-associated macrophages in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma with pan-cancer relevance. (PubMed, NPJ Precis Oncol)
    Furthermore, MARCO⁺ macrophages were also enriched across several other cancer types, suggesting a potential pan-cancer relevance. Collectively, our findings uncover a critical role of MARCO⁺ macrophages in PDAC progression and highlight MARCO as a promising therapeutic target with potential applicability across multiple malignancies.
