Copy number amplification of TTPAL promotes cholesterol biosynthesis and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma progression via elevating NSUN2-mediated m5C modification of SREBP2 mRNA. (PubMed, J Exp Clin Cancer Res)
Moreover, we validate the efficacy of cholesterol biosynthesis inhibitor simvastatin in ESCC with high TTPAL expression. Overall, our results uncover a novel function of TTPAL in regulating SREBP2 expression, revealed a previously unknown TTPAL/NSUN2/SREBP2 pathway that promotes cholesterol biosynthesis in ESCC cells, and identified sensitively to cholesterol biosynthesis inhibitor simvastatin.

Changes in DNA Methylation and mRNA Expression in Lung Tissue after Long-Term Supplementation with an Increased Dose of Cholecalciferol. (PubMed, Int J Mol Sci)
The results of this study suggested that an increased vitamin D intake may be helpful for the prevention of lung cancer and pulmonary fibrosis. These actions may stem from the influence of vitamin D on the expression of genes associated with collagen production, such as SHMT1, UGT1A6, and ITIH2.The anti-cancer properties of vitamin D are also supported by changes in KLHL3 and TTPA gene expression.

Investigation of the IL7Rα Gene Polymorphism rs6897932 and the Expression Levels of the CDH1, TTPAL, and FHIT Genes in Patients with Breast Cancer. (PubMed, P R Health Sci J)
Our results are compatible with those reported in the literature. It can be suggested that the upregulation observed in the TTPAL gene might be a marker for breast cancer. The downregulation of CDH1 and FHIT gene expression has been validated in our study. An increase in the copy numbers of FHIT mRNA in blood samples and a decrease in the tumor samples can also be considered an abnormal condition.

The mRNA levels of the FHIT gene increased at stage I-II-III, decreased at stage IV in the tissues and decreased at each stage (I-IV) in the blood. The mRNA levels of TTPAL gene increased at each stage (I-IV) in the tissues and decreased at each stage (I-IV) in the blood.
