Dietary Tryptophan Augments Cancer-Associated Venous Thrombosis Mitigated by Indoleamine 2,3-Dioxygenase 1 Inhibition. (PubMed, Blood Adv)
A specific IDO1 inhibitor reduced serum levels of Kyn, restored the balance of pro- and anti-coagulant factors in the venous endothelium, and significantly suppressed venous thrombogenicity in tumor-bearing mice. Taken together, our results uncovered a prothrombotic effect of a protein or tryptophan-rich diet in a syngeneic colon cancer model, which is significantly attenuated by an IDO1 inhibitor.

Methods to Elucidate Hematopoietic Clonal Organization in Bone Marrow (ASH 2023)
Surprisingly, the clonal mutations were not well mixed in the BM with regions of high clonal diversity millimeters away from regions with a paucity of these mutated clones. Future work will expand this platform to describe BM clonal architecture in a larger set of bone marrow specimens and a wide variety clinical scenarios to help further explain the role of the BM niche in CH, MPNs and leukemia.

It may be concluded that PS-NP exposure caused a significant acceleration of EOC tumor growth in mice and a dose-dependent decrease in the relative viability of EOC cells by altering the tumor growth microenvironment. This offers new insights into the mechanisms underlying PS-NP effects on EOC.

The Role of Thrombomodulin in Estrogen-Receptor-Positive Breast Cancer Progression, Metastasis, and Curcumin Sensitivity. (PubMed, Biomedicines)
We found that the relative mRNA expression levels of ABCC1, LRP1, and MDR1 genes after curcumin treatment were higher in scrambled control cells than in TM-KD cells. In conclusion, our results demonstrated that TM plays a suppressive role in the progression and metastasis of ER breast cancer, and it regulates curcumin sensitivity by interfering with ABCC1, LRP1, and MDR1 gene expression.

Implication of lncRNA ZBED3-AS1 downregulation in acquired resistance to Temozolomide and glycolysis in glioblastoma. (PubMed, Eur J Pharmacol)
Either ZBED3-AS1 overexpression or SPI1 knockdown in U87/TMZ cells blocked the growth of orthotopic and subcutaneous xenograft tumors in nude mice. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that ZBED3-AS1 downregulation and THBD activation is linked to increased TMZ resistance and glycolysis in GBM cells.
