This study demonstrates the essential role of thrombomodulin in recombinant Fc-fusion protein production in Chinese hamster ovary cells, reveals novel biological functions of thrombomodulin, and expands our understanding of the complex cellular machinery underlying recombinant protein expression in CHO cells.
