Surgical resection of double advanced pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors with multiple renal cell carcinoma associated with von Hippel-Lindau disease. (PubMed, Clin J Gastroenterol)

The patient remains alive 41 months after primary surgery. Kidney cancer generally determines VHL prognosis; however, we experienced dual-advanced PNETs with a more defined prognosis than multiple RCC associated with VHL.

False-Negative Neuroendocrine Tumor Identified With 68Ga-DOTATOC PET/CT: A Case of Well-Differentiated Somatostatinoma. (PubMed, Clin Nucl Med)

Histology, a well-differentiated duodenal neuroendocrine tumor was confirmed, consistent with the diagnosis of somatostatinoma. Although rare, this well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumor should be kept in mind as a possible source of false-negative somatostatin receptor PET/CT findings.

Somatostatin receptor subtype 2A expression and genetics in 184 paragangliomas: a single center retrospective observational study. (PubMed, Endocrine)

SSTR2A negativity was correlated with extra-adrenal tumor location and PVs in cluster 1B and cluster 2 genes such as VHL, FGFR1 and HRAS. Immunohistochemistry of SSTR2A should be taken into consideration in the personalized management of PGLs.
