SOX17/PAX8 dual immunohistochemical expression in the diagnosis of Müllerian carcinomas. (PubMed, Diagn Pathol)
Müllerian carcinomas can be distinguished from non-gynecological metastases using PAX8 and SOX17 immunohistochemistry, with PAX8-high/SOX17-high patterns strongly indicating endometrioid differentiation and double-negative results excluding gynecologic origin with consistency in colorectal, breast, and pulmonary carcinomas. Renal and thyroid carcinomas are the diagnostic traps on the basis of PAX8 expression and require additional markers for final classification in metastatic workups.

Aesculetin (6,7-dihydroxycoumarin) enhances the differentiation of human bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells into functional hepatocyte-like cells. (PubMed, Sci Rep)
Importantly, further analysis revealed that the differentiation process promoted by aesculetin was associated with the activation of the STAT3 and STAT5 signaling pathways. Collectively, these findings underscore the pivotal role of aesculetin in promoting the hepatic differentiation of hBM-MSCs and demonstrate its potential as a key component for regenerative medicine applications in liver tissue engineering or stem cell-based therapies.

Consistent with these findings, our in vivo studies in BALB/c nude mice showed that aPC-EVs from lung cancer cells promote tumor growth, metastasis, and drug resistance through miR-200a transfer. Targeting EV biogenesis, EV's miR-200a, and/or EV uptake mechanisms may offer novel therapeutic strategies in limiting lung tumorigenesis, thereby increasing patients' survival.
