Single-cell RNA sequencing reveals tumor cells and immune cells variation associated with lymphatic metastasis in papillary thyroid cancer. (PubMed, Endocr Connect)
Cell-cell interaction analysis showed that the increased CD44-TYROBP-mediated and decreased PPIA-BSG and APP-SORL1-mediated cell communication between tumor cells and other cells.Specifically, CD8+ resident memory T cells emerged as pivotal regulators in LM of PTC, primarily through the expression of MHC-I, CD99 and LCK. This study provides new insights into the heterogeneity of PTC and the basis for LM in PTC, which might provide potential therapeutic targets in future treatment.

Physical and functional interactions between LDLR family members and CXCR4 in breast cancer. (PubMed, FEBS J)
Additional members of the LDLR family, SORL1 and LRP2, also showed a negative correlation with CXCR4 in the prognosis of breast cancer patients. The findings of the present study show that the LDLR family can regulate CXCR4, endowing its members with a previously undescribed role, also suggesting their potential as new breast cancer therapeutic targets and prognostic markers.

FOXP1 is a Transcription Factor for the Alzheimer's Disease Risk Gene SORL1. (PubMed, J Neurochem)
Disruption of ELN and the autophagy degradation system by bafilomycin A1 (BafA1) appeared to be a specific condition to suppress FOXP1 and hence SORL1 in SH-SY5Y cells. These findings highlight the critical role of FOXP1 in regulating SORL1 expression and suggest that FOXP1 could be a potential target to maintain SORL1 expression for AD prevention and therapy.

SORL1-Mediated EGFR and FGFR4 Regulation Enhances Chemoresistance in Ovarian Cancer. (PubMed, Cancers (Basel))
Our data showed that a selective inhibitor of FGFR4, FGF401, can improve the therapeutic efficacy of carboplatin in a xenograft mouse model of ovarian cancer. This study has demonstrated the therapeutic potential of targeting the SORL1/FGFR4 pathway to improve the chemoresponse of patients with recurrent and/or resistant ovarian cancer.

A potentially effective regimen was speculated for patients with high PCDI scores who tend to exhibit worse progression-free survival.
