Diagnostic value of long noncoding RNA SNHG15 in gastric cancer: in vitro and in silico studies. (PubMed, Nucleosides Nucleotides Nucleic Acids)
Further gene network analysis revealed that SNHG15 interacts with has-miR-613, has-miR-542-3p, and has-miR-1236-3p, and may be involved in the GC pathobiology by affecting the EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor resistance, HIF-1 signaling pathway, and VEGF signaling pathway. It can be concluded that SNHG15 may be a diagnostic factor in GC and may contribute in a variety of cancer-related signaling pathways.

Tobacco nicotine promotes TRAIL resistance in lung cancer through SNHG5. (PubMed, Exp Ther Med)
The present study found that cytoplasm lncRNA SNHG5 overexpression was associated with TRAIL resistance in lung cancer and that SNHG5 can interact with X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis protein to promote TRAIL resistance. Therefore, nicotine promoted TRAIL resistance in lung cancer through SNHG5/X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis protein.

LncRNA SNHG5 Suppresses Cell Migration and Invasion of Human Lung Adenocarcinoma via Regulation of Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition. (PubMed, J Oncol)
In LAD tissues, the expression of SNHG5 exhibited a positive association with E-cadherin protein expression but a negative correlation with N-cadherin and vimentin, according to the results of quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR). In summary, the current work demonstrated that the lncRNA SNHG5 might limit cell migration and invasion of LAD cancer via decreasing the EMT process, indicating that SNHG5 might be used as a target for LAD therapeutic methods.

LncRNA small nucleolar RNA host gene 5 inhibits trophoblast autophagy in preeclampsia by targeting microRNA-31-5p and promoting the transcription of secreted protein acidic and rich in cysteine. (PubMed, Bioengineered)
Additionally, miR-31-5p knockdown or 3-MA treatment reverted the stimulative effect of SNHG5 silencing on trophoblast autophagy. Collectively, our study demonstrated that lncRNA SNHG5 alleviated the PE phenotype and inhibited trophoblast autophagy by sponging miR-31-5p and promoting SPARC transcription.

LncRNA SNHG5 promotes the proliferation and cancer stem cell-like properties of HCC by regulating UPF1 and Wnt-signaling pathway. (PubMed, Cancer Gene Ther)
After use of the inhibitor of Wnt/β-catenin pathway, the formation of liver CSCs sphere decreased. Taken together, SNHG5 plays a critical role to promote HCC cell proliferation and cancer stem cell-like properties via UPF1 and Wnt/β-catenin pathway.

Down-regulation LncRNA-SNHG15 contributes to proliferation and invasion of bladder cancer cells. (PubMed, BMC Urol)
This study showed that lncRNA-SNHG15 is overexpressed in bladder cancer tissues and (5637, UMUC3 T24) cell lines. Up regulation was positively related to tumor stage (P = 0.015), and tumor size (P = 0.0465). Down-regulation of lncRNA-SNHG15 by siRNA significantly inhibited UMUC3 and T24 cell proliferation and invasion, indicating a potential molecular target for future tumor targeted therapy.
