Alcohol-induced C/EBP β-driven VIRMA decreases oxidative stress and promotes pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma growth and metastasis via the m6A/YTHDF2/SLC43A2 pathway. (PubMed, Oncogene)
Furthermore, alcohol increased C/EBP β expression, which bound to VIRMA's promoter, enhancing its transcription. These findings suggest a connection between alcohol consumption, m6A modifications, and phenylalanine absorption in PDAC progression, offering a new approach to combat this disease.

Slc43a2+ T cell metastasis from spleen to brain in RGNNV infected teleost. (PubMed, Sci China Life Sci)
Single-cell transcriptomic analysis indicated that slc43a2+ T cells mature and functionally differentiate within the spleen and then migrate into the brain to trigger an immune response. This study suggests a novel route for T cell migration from the spleen to the brain during viral infection in fish.

Alteration of genome-wide DNA methylation in non-uranium miners induced by high level radon exposure. (PubMed, Mutat Res Genet Toxicol Environ Mutagen)
GO and KEGG analysis implicated that long term radon exposure could induce the lung cancer related biological processes such as cell adhesion and cellular polarity maintenance. Our study provides evidence for the alterations of genome-wide DNA methylation profiles induced by long-term high level radon exposure, and new insights into searching for carcinogenic biomarkers of high radon exposure in future studies.

A novel stemness classification in acute myeloid leukemia by the stemness index and the identification of cancer stem cell-related biomarkers. (PubMed, Front Immunol)
We found that patients in stemness subgroup I had a poor prognosis and benefited from nilotinib, MK-2206 and axitinib treatment. Overall, we established a novel stemness classification using the mRNAsi score and eight stemness-related genes that may be biomarkers. Clinical decision-making should be guided by this new signature in prospective studies.

SLC43A2 and NFκB signaling pathway regulate methionine/cystine restriction-induced ferroptosis in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma via a feedback loop. (PubMed, Cell Death Dis)
MCR blocked cancer progression via stimulating ferroptosis through the positive feedback loop between SLC43A2 and NFκB signaling pathways. Our results provided the theoretical basis and new targets for ferroptosis-based clinical antitumor treatments for ESCC patients.
