Cadmium-associated molecular pathways drive gender-specific pathogenesis and prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma. (PubMed, Ecotoxicol Environ Saf)
We propose a Cd-exposure pathogenesis model wherein disrupted ALB homeostasis triggers aberrant lipid trafficking and SERPINA5-mediated signaling cascades, driving sexual dimorphism in LUAD progression. These findings provide mechanistic insights into environmental carcinogen-induced sex disparities, highlighting ALB and SERPINA5 as potential targets for gender-specific diagnostic strategies and therapeutic development.

Screening of differential gene expression patterns through survival analysis for diagnosis, prognosis and therapies of clear cell renal cell carcinoma. (PubMed, PLoS One)
Then we detected 10 repurposable drug molecules (Irinotecan, Imatinib, Telaglenastat, Olaparib, RG-4733, Sorafenib, Sitravatinib, Cabozantinib, Abemaciclib, and Dovitinib.) by molecular docking with KGs-mediated receptor proteins. Their ADME/T analysis and cross-validation with the independent receptors, also supported their potent against ccRCC. Therefore, these outputs might be useful inputs/resources to the wet-lab researchers and clinicians for considering an effective treatment strategy against ccRCC.

Construction and assessment of an angiogenesis-related gene signature for prognosis of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. (PubMed, Discov Oncol)
This study established a new prognostic model for AAGs and may guide the selection of therapeutic agents for HNSC. These genes have important functions in the tumor microenvironment; it also provides a valuable resource for the future clinical trials investigating the relationship between HNSC and AAGs.

Transcriptomic screening of novel targets of sericin in human hepatocellular carcinoma cells. (PubMed, Sci Rep)
Additionally, the protective effects of sericin depended on the counterregulation of APOB, POU2F1, OGT, TRAF6, and HSPA5. These findings suggest that sericin exerts hepatoprotective effects through diverse pathways at different doses, providing novel potential targets for the treatment of liver diseases.

Predictive multi-omics analysis of BPM31510 in combination with gemcitabine in a phase 2 study of advanced pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). (ASCO-GI 2024)
Clinical Trial Registration Number NCT02650804 Sponsored by No funding sources reported Background: Advanced PDAC has limited therapeutic options. Our results point to biomarkers associated with (a) length on trial, (b) outcome and (c) involvement of mitochondrial biology in the mechanism of BPM31510-IV in the adequately treated PDAC population. The data herein supports further study of these biomarkers in late-stage trials to confirm the biological mechanism of BPM31510 in PDAC patients. Clinical trial information: NCT02650804.

A new prognostic model for glioblastoma multiforme based on coagulation-related genes. (PubMed, Transl Cancer Res)
Moreover, high-risk patients exhibited higher levels of immune cell infiltration, stromal score, immune score, and ESTIMATE score than that of low-risk patients. An analysis of coagulation-related prognostic signatures was conducted in this study, as well as how signature genes may affect GBM progress, providing information that might provide new ideas for the development of GBM-related molecular targeted therapies.
