SEMA6A overexpression inhibited tumor growth and metastasis in colorectal cancer. (PubMed, Braz J Med Biol Res)
In addition, SEMA6A overexpression resulted in a marked decrease in liver metastasis of CRC cells, with decreased numbers of hepatic metastatic nodules and infiltration of cancer cells. In summary, SEMA6A overexpression alleviated CRC progression by inhibiting tumor growth and metastasis both in vivo and in vitro.

Liproxstatin-1 or ML385 treatment reversed curcumin-induced anti-tumor effect and ferroptosis. Curcumin activates the NRF2/HMOX1 pathway to promote ferroptosis, thus repressing the malignant progression of lung cancer cells. These findings provide new insights into the mechanism of curcumin's anti-tumor effect and highlight its potential as a therapeutic drug for lung cancer.

Long noncoding RNA semaphorin 6A-antisense RNA 1 reduces hepatocellular carcinoma by promoting semaphorin 6A mRNA degradation. (PubMed, World J Gastroenterol)
Our findings suggest that SEMA6A-AS1 can inhibit HCC progression through decreasing SEMA6A expression by promoting its mRNA degradation. SEMA6A-AS1 may be a prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target for HCC.

Identification of BCL11A, NTN5, and OGN as Diagnosis Biomarker of Papillary Renal Cell Carcinomas by Bioinformatic Analysis. (PubMed, J Kidney Cancer VHL)
A combined receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis revealed that the BCL11A-NTN5-OGN genes, which have specificity and sensitivity values of 0.968 and 0.901, respectively, can be used as a diagnostic biomarker for PRCC. In general, the genes introduced in this study may be used as diagnostic biomarkers for the early diagnosis of PRCC, thus providing the possibility of early treatment and preventing the progression of the disease.

We made an analysis of m6A- and m5C- related lncRNAs in melanoma samples and a prediction of these lncRNAs' role in prognosis, tumor microenvironment, immune infiltration, and clinicopathological features. We also found that LINC00893, which is potentially regulated by m6A modification, could serve as a tumor-suppressor in melanoma and play an inhibitory role in melanoma metastasis.

The intracellular domain of Sema6A is essential for development of the zebrafish retina. (PubMed, J Cell Sci)
We identified that the intracellular domain is not required for eye size and retinal patterning, however it is required for retinal integrity, the number and end feet strength of Müller glia and protecting against retinal cell death. This novel function for the intracellular domain suggests a role for Sema6A reverse signaling in zebrafish eye development.

Dedicated studies on 153 DNA repair genes showed associations for some 30 genes, expression of which could be modified by the implicated variants. We finally point out that monitoring of CAs is so far the only method of assessing cancer risk in healthy human populations, and the use of the technology should be made more attractive by developing automated performance steps and incorporating artificial intelligence methods into the scoring.

CircSEMA6A recruits ELAV1 to stabilize PRRG4 mRNA and drives PTC progression via PRRG4. CircSEMA6A upregulates PRRG4 by targeting miR-520h and recruiting ELAVL1 to affect the invasion and migration of PTC cells, offering insight into the molecular mechanisms of PTC.
