TP53 gene implications in prostate cancer evolution: potential role in tumor classification. (PubMed, Med Pharm Rep)
Additionally, we evaluated the expression level of the four key miRNAs (miR-15a-5p, miR-34a-5p, and miR-141-3p) interconnected as a network at tissue and plasma levels. Through these results, we demonstrated the essential function of TP53 and its associated miRNAs that play a significant role in tumor control, highlighting miRNAs' potential as future therapeutic targets and biomarkers with important implications in managing prostate cancer.

The SLIT/ROBO Pathway in Liver Fibrosis and Cancer. (PubMed, Biomolecules)
Herein, we examined the expression patterns of SLIT and ROBO proteins in normal adult livers and two types of liver cancers: hepatocellular carcinoma and cholangiocarcinoma. This review also summarizes the potential therapeutics of this pathway for anti-fibrosis and anti-cancer drug development.

Upregulation of ROBO3 promotes proliferation, migration and adhesion of AML cells and affects the survival of AML patients. (PubMed, Biochem Biophys Res Commun)
The inhibitors of this pathway, K-975 and verteporfin, showed an inhibitory effect on AML cells with high ROBO3 expression. ROBO3 was also found to be significantly increased in bone marrow samples from AML patients. Our research indicates that ROBO3 plays an important role in the development of AML, which suggests that ROBO3 can be a prognostic biomarker and potential therapeutic target for AML.

ROBO3s: a novel ROBO3 short isoform promoting breast cancer aggressiveness. (PubMed, Cell Death Dis)
We established an important role for the ROBO3s isoform, mediating cancer stem cell properties by stimulating the Hippo-YAP signaling pathway, and thus driving resistance of BLBC cells to cytotoxic drugs. By uncovering the conservation of ROBO3s expression across multiple cancer types, as well as its association with reduced BLBC-patient survival, we emphasize its potential as a prognostic marker and identify a novel attractive target for anti-cancer drug development.

Axon guidance receptor ROBO3 modulates subtype identity and prognosis via AXL-associated inflammatory network in pancreatic cancer. (PubMed, JCI Insight)
Combining AXL inhibitor and chemotherapy substantially restored a CLA phenotypic state and reduced disease aggressiveness. Thus, we conclude that a ROBO3-driven hierarchical network determines the inflammatory and prometastatic programs in a specific PDAC subtype.

In contrast, the N-terminal domain of NELL2 increased cell adhesion in the early phase and migration in vitro in some breast cancer cells. These results suggested that full-length NELL2 protein, when expressed in myoepithelial cells, might serve as an inhibitor of breast cancer cell migration.

Immune prognostic risk score model in acute myeloid leukemia with normal karyotype. (PubMed, Oncol Lett)
The prognostic risk score was positively associated with age and fms related receptor tyrosine kinase 3 mutation and correlated with infiltration by T regulatory cells. In conclusion, the results of the present study provided an IRG score model for prognostic stratification of adult patients with NK-AML, as well as further insight into the implication of IRGs in NK-AML that may lead to the development of novel immunotherapy approaches for this disease.
