Interference with mitochondrial metabolism could serve as a potential therapeutic strategy for advanced prostate cancer. (PubMed, PLoS One)
In summary, our findings indicate that over-expressed POLG2 renders poor prognosis in advanced prostate cancer. This disadvantageous factor can serve as a potential indicator, making it possible to target mitochondrial metabolism to treat advanced prostate cancer.

[VIRTUAL] Silencing DNA Polymerase ? induces aneuploidy as a biomarker of poor prognosis in oral squamous cell cancer (AHNS 2021)
After depletion of POLB expression, OSCC cells induced chromosomal instability and aneuploidy. Altogether, we have identified DNA polymerases beta as an important maintainer of karyotypic stability in OSCC cells.

After POLB depletion, OSCC cells showed chromosomal instability and aneuploidy. Thus, POLB is an important maintainer of karyotypic stability in OSCC cells.
