Circ_0049472 downregulation relieves Amyloid-β-induced neuronal injury by modulating PDE4A expression via targeting miR-22-3p in Alzheimer's disease. (PubMed, Metab Brain Dis)
Mechanistically, circ_0049472 is competitively bound to miR-22-3p to elevate its target PDE4A. Circ_0049472 knockdown alleviated Aβ-induced SK-N-SH and CHP212 cell dysfunctions via targeting the miR-22-3p/PDE4A axis, suggesting that circ_0049472 knockdown might protect from neuronal injury in AD.

Notably, Rolipram, the PDE4 inhibitor, mirrored the effects observed with PDE4A deletion. In summary, the downregulation of PDE4A appears to facilitate OC progression by modulating the Snail/EMT pathway, underscoring the potential of PDE4A as a therapeutic target against ovarian cancer metastasis.

The findings of this study provide a partial basis for the role of PDE4 family in the occurrence and development of THCA. In addition, this study also suggested that PDE4C might be a potential prognostic marker of THCA, which could serve as a reference for future basic and clinical research.

We further observed that PDE4A was closely linked to the sensitivity of several chemotherapy drugs. Given the limitation of studies investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying the correlation between MS and NSCLC, our findings suggest that there are shared pathogenic processes and molecular mechanisms between these two diseases and that PDE4A represents a potential therapeutic target and immune-related biomarker for patients with both MS and NSCLC.
