Immunohistochemical Expression of PAX8 in Central Nervous System Hemangioblastomas: A Potential Diagnostic Pitfall for Neuropathologists. (PubMed, Appl Immunohistochem Mol Morphol)
However, as in recent years, some cases of PAX8-positive HBs have been reported in the literature; we studied the expression of this antibody on a series of 23 intracranial HB, showing that about 40% of these tumors may express PAX8 and that this immunoreactivity is often focal and weak. We would like to emphasize that the possibility of a PAX8-positive intracranial HB does exist and must be taken into account by neuropathologists to avoid misdiagnoses; in this regard, a broader immunohistochemical panel also including CD10, Inhibin-α, PAX2, S100, and anti-Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) antibody is highly recommended.

Case report: Carcinosarcoma of uterus in nulliparous women. (PubMed, Front Oncol)
The patient's disease-free survival (DFS) was seven months. The rate of childless in patients with uterine carcinosarcoma is at a high level.

Smooth Muscle and Adenoma-Like Renal Tumor (SMART)- A Rare Biphasic Renal Tumor with a Review. (PubMed, Int J Surg Pathol)
We report an additional example of SMART with a literature review. Knowledge about this recently described entity would lead to a better understanding of the clinicopathological features and histogenesis of this tumor.

Fumarate hydratase-deficient renal cell carcinoma: a single institution-based study of 29 patients by clinicopathological, immunohistochemical and genetic approaches. (PubMed, Pathology)
In conclusion, results revealed generally unfavourable clinical presentations and outcomes with a diverse range of FH mutations. These findings, along with the histopathological and immunohistochemical features, can be used to guide diagnosis and treatment.

A Rare Case of Primary Ovarian Mucinous Carcinoma with Signet-Ring Cells and Literature Review. (PubMed, Turk Patoloji Derg)
The distinction from the more frequently seen metastatic carcinomas needs a complete evaluation of clinicopathological findings. Early-stage primary mucinous carcinomas having localized signet-ring cell nodules seem to have favorable prognosis without adjuvant treatment.

Identifying mesonephric-like adenocarcinoma of the endometrium by combining SOX17 and PAX8 immunohistochemistry. (PubMed, Histopathology)
Our results suggest that a combination of SOX17 and PAX8 IHCs would aid in diagnosing MLA if the results show strong positive PAX8, but negative SOX17.

Evaluation of an institutional series of low-grade oncocytic tumor (LOT) of the kidney and review of the mutational landscape of LOT. (PubMed, Virchows Arch)
Our study shows that LOT is increasingly diagnosed in routine practice when applying the appropriate diagnostic criteria. We also confirm that the mTOR pathway is strongly implicated in the pathogenesis of this tumor mainly through MTOR, TCS1, and TSC2 mutations, but other genes could also be involved in the pathway activation, especially in LOTs without "canonical" mutations.

Synchronous Bilateral Ovarian Mesonephric-like Adenocarcinomas with Separate Origins from High-Grade Mullerian Adenosarcoma and Endometriosis: Report of a Rare Case. (PubMed, Int J Gynecol Pathol)
The right ovarian mass showed endometriosis with focal direct evidence of the development of malignancy within a benign endometriotic cyst, exhibiting the identical immunoprofile of MLA but originating as another malignancy. To the best of our knowledge, this case represents the first reported case of synchronous bilateral ovarian MLAs with separate origins, from high-grade Mullerian adenosarcoma and endometriosis respectively, which broadens the morphologic spectrum of MLA and provides further evidence supporting the Mullerian origin theory.

Wilms Tumor: An Unexpected Diagnosis in Adult Patients. (PubMed, Arch Pathol Lab Med)
WT is an unexpected and difficult entity to diagnose in adults and should be considered when faced with a primitive-appearing renal or metastatic tumor. Molecular testing may help exclude other possibilities but may not be sensitive or specific because of the relatively large number of driver mutations reported in WT.
