Maternal curcumin supplementation alleviates intestinal inflammation of Escherichia coli-infected offspring via modulating gut microbiome in chickens. (PubMed, Anim Nutr)
Concurrently, maternal CUR increased the relative abundance of Lactobacillus (P < 0.05), which was negatively correlated with intestinal inflammation and oxidative stress. The present study showed that maternal CUR supplementation can alleviate intestinal inflammation in offspring chickens, which may be mediated by regulating gut microbiota composition.

NanoScript-Enabled Nonviral Transient Repression of Phosphatase and Tensin Homolog for Axonal Regeneration and Central Nervous System Injury Repair. (PubMed, ACS Nano)
Importantly, PTEN expression partially rebounded by DPI-28, aligning with the intended transient activity window of the nanoscript system and supporting its translational safety. Through this combination of precise, nonintegrative gene modulation and broad downstream remodeling, NS-PTEN addresses both intrinsic neuronal limitations and extrinsic inhibitory features of the SCI microenvironment.

Vitamin D3 mediates amelioration of ulcerative colitis via the TRPV1-MAPK signaling pathway. (PubMed, Front Immunol)
Consequently, this regulatory cascade led to a significant decrease in pro-inflammatory cytokines, including Interleukin-1Beta (IL-1β), Interleukin-6 (IL-6), and Tumor Necrosis Factor-Alpha (TNF-α), and concurrently restored intestinal barrier function by upregulating the expression of Occludin and Mucin2 (Muc2). This study elucidates a protective role of VD3 in UC, whereby it coordinately regulates immune responses and barrier function via the TRPV1-MAPK signaling pathway, providing a novel theoretical and experimental foundation for VD3-based therapy for UC.

Protective effect of docosahexaenoic acid supplementation during pregnancy against lipopolysaccharide-induced intrauterine growth restriction in fetal mice. (PubMed, J Nutr)
In pregnant mice, maternal DHA supplementation mitigated LPS-induced FGR by suppressing NF-κB-mediated inflammatory signaling, modulating gut microbiota composition, and supporting intestinal barrier function, highlighting a potential nutritional strategy to alleviate inflammation-associated adverse pregnancy outcomes.

Tight Spaces, Big Discoveries: Decoding Human Adhesion Biology with Avian Chorioallantoic Membrane Xenograft Models. (PubMed, Cancers (Basel))
While limitations remain, particularly with respect to immune modelling and long-term studies, recent advances in imaging, genetic manipulation and integration of patient-derived xenografts (PDXs) are expanding the model's translational relevance. Standardizing methodologies and embracing new molecular tools will further elevate the utility of this approach as a complementary platform to traditional rodent models, with significant promise for TJ-focused cancer research and therapeutic innovation.

Superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticle restores gut microbiota homeostasis to enhance lung cancer immunotherapy. (PubMed, Natl Sci Rev)
SPIOCA gavage fortified intestinal barrier integrity-evidenced by elevated ZO-1, ZO-2, Occludin and Claudin-1 expression-and potentiated antitumor immune-cell infiltration, specifically by CD8+ T cells and dendritic cells, into the tumor microenvironment. We therefore preliminarily conclude that SPIOCAs restore gut microbiota homeostasis in lung cancer, thereby enhancing intestinal barrier integrity and converting the tumor immune microenvironment from an immune desert to an immune-inflamed phenotype, ultimately improving lung cancer immunotherapy efficacy.

Highly Ca2+-permeable Transient Receptor Potential Vanilloid 6 Contributes to the Protection against Colitis by Regulating Epithelial Barrier Function. (PubMed, Am J Physiol Gastrointest Liver Physiol)
No difference was observed in the number of goblet cells between WT and TRPV6KO mice; however, the expression of intercellular junction proteins, including E-cadherin, claudin-3, and occludin, was significantly suppressed in TRPV6KO mice compared with WT mice. These findings suggest that TRPV6 protects against DSS-induced colitis, potentially by regulating epithelial barrier function through intracellular junction protein expressions.

A Comparative Toxicological Evaluation of Nicotine and Its Analog 6-Methyl Nicotine in E-Cigarette Aerosol Utilizing a 3D in vitro Human Respiratory Model. (PubMed, Toxicology)
Our findings reveal differential toxicological and chemical profiles for nicotine and 6-MN aerosols; however, flavorings may confer similar cytotoxicity, as measured by LDH and metabolic activity, in 6-MN formulations as they do in those with nicotine. Thus, 6-MN is not a "safer" nicotine alternative.

Ganoderic Acid A alleviates ulcerative colitis by inhibiting the interleukin17 signaling pathway via targeting retinoic acid-related orphan receptor alpha. (PubMed, J Ethnopharmacol)
Our findings disclose that GAA alleviated DSS-induced UC by inhibiting the IL-17 signaling pathway via targeting RORA to reduce inflammation. Our study suggests that GAA holds potential as a nutritional intervention for the prevention and treatment of UC.

Spatial metabolomics combined with MALDI-MSI unveils gut-brain axis mechanisms of angelica dahurica radix in migraine rats. (PubMed, Phytomedicine)
Baizhi alleviates migraine through multi-target regulation of the gut-brain axis, including intestinal barrier repair, gut microbiota remodeling, and cerebral metabolic restoration. Notably, this study on Baizhi represents the first integration of spatial metabolomics (MALDI-MSI) with gut microbiome and systemic metabolomics to elucidate migraine mechanisms, providing a novel multi-omics strategy for understanding the holistic therapeutic effects of traditional Chinese medicine. These findings provide a mechanistic basis for its clinical application in migraine treatment.
