IRX2 and NPTX1 differential regulation of β-catenin underlies MEK-mediated proliferation in human neuroglial cells. (PubMed, Genes Dev)
Leveraging human-induced pluripotent stem cells harboring these PA-associated alterations, we used a combination of genetic and pharmacological approaches to demonstrate that MEK-regulated cell growth is mediated by β-catenin through independent mechanisms involving IRX2 control of CTNNB1 transcription and NPTX1 stabilization of β-catenin protein levels. These results provide new mechanistic insights into MEK regulation of human brain cell function.

β-Elemene Inhibits Adrenocortical Carcinoma Cell Proliferation and Migration, and Induces Apoptosis by Up-Regulating miR-486-3p/Targeting NPTX1 Axis. (PubMed, Mol Carcinog)
Additionally, tumor growth was suppressed and apoptosis was induced in tumor cells in vivo by β-elemene. In conclusion, β-elemene reduces ACC cell viability, hinders proliferation and migration, and induces apoptosis through the miR-486-3p/NPTX1 axis.

Virus-Triggered Autoimmunity Was Associated With Hirschsprung's Disease Through Activation of Innate Immunity. (PubMed, J Immunol Res)
Further analysis showed that wide activation of innate immune pathways, including toll-like receptor (TLR) signaling pathway, neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) signaling pathway, red cell distribution width to lymphocyte ratio (RLR) signaling pathway, and cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) signaling pathway in aganglionic compared to ganglionic segments of HSCR. This study suggested that virus-triggered autoimmunity may contribute to HSCR through activation of innate immunity, which facilitates the diagnosis and prevention of HSCR.
