Moreover, this review reveals the challenges in the contemporary research that are of critical importance: optimization of large-scale production and purification of ASC-Exos to provide uniformity in the clinical use; full clarification of the molecular processes that underlie ASC-Exos-mediated effects (e.g., metabolic reprogramming control in tumors); and the absence of detailed preclinical and clinical data on the long-term safety and efficacy. Finally, the review would serve as a valuable resource to developing fundamental research in the field of ASC-Exos and increasing the pace of its clinical application, especially when used together in conjunction with more sophisticated methods of drug delivery and tissue regeneration, to achieve new prospects in the treatment of incurable diseases and repair tissue in regenerative medicine.

This study revealed the molecular mechanism by which hsa-let-7b-5p reshapes the immune microenvironment of NSCLC cells by targeting and inhibiting AP1S1 expression, thereby regulating the polarization of TAMs toward the M2 phenotype. Thus, the hsa-let-7b-5p/AP1S1 axis may serve as a potential therapeutic target for NSCLC immunotherapy, providing novel strategies for improving patient prognosis.

Differentially Expressed Genes Associated with the Development of Cervical Cancer. (PubMed, Int J Mol Sci)
The publicly available microarray datasets, including GSE39001, GSE9750, GSE7803, GSE6791, GSE63514, and GSE52903 in combination with bioinformatics database predictions, were used to identify differential expression genes, potential biomarkers, and therapeutic targets for cervical cancer; additionally, we undertook bioinformatic analysis to determine gene ontology and possible miRNA targets related to our DEGs...Interestingly, hub proteins KIF4A, NUSAP1, BUB1B, CEP55, DLGAP5, NCAPG, CDK1, MELK, KIF11, and KIF20A were found to be potentially regulated by several miRNAs, including miR-107, miR-124-3p, miR-147a, miR-16-5p, miR-34a-5p, miR-34c-5p, miR-126-3p, miR-10b-5p, miR-23b-3p, miR-200b-3p, miR-138-5p, miR-203a-3p, miR-214-3p, and let-7b-5p. The relationship between these genes highlights their potential as candidate biomarkers for further research in treatment, diagnosis, and prognosis.

Extracellular microRNAs modulate human microglial function through TLR8. (PubMed, Front Immunol)
Extracellular delivery of miR-132-5p and miR-9-5p to co-cultures of iNeurons and iMGLs resulted in reduced neurite length.
