miR-195 and miR-549a Are Essential Biomarkers for Early-Onset Colorectal Cancer. (PubMed, Int J Mol Sci)
This preliminary report highlights a 25-gene deregulated signature in EO-CRC, in which hsa-miR-195 and hsa-miR-549a emerge as biomarkers of clinical relevance, regulating key genes involved in angiogenesis, migration, and invasion. Their dysregulation could contribute to the aggressive clinical features and poor outcomes observed in EO-CRC.

Blood miRNAs miR-549a, miR-552, and miR-592 serve as potential disease-specific panels to diagnose colorectal cancer. (PubMed, Heliyon)
Considering the strong associations of these three identified miRNAs with CRC, they can collectively serve as a panel for specific discrimination of CRC from other types of cancer within the body. Although this study focused solely on CRC, this approach can potentially be applied to other cancer types as well.

An increase in miR-let-7c-5p expression was noted after WA treatment, with a simultaneous decrease in CCND1 and c-MYC at mRNA and protein levels. Taken together, our study demonstrated WA-mediated miRNA expression, in particular, upregulation of miR-let-7c-5p, leads to the inhibition of breast cancer cells derived mammospheres.
