Circulating microRNAs as Biomarkers of Brain Metastases in Lung Cancer: A Pilot Study. (PubMed, J Clin Med)
Notable differences in miRNA expression profiles were revealed for the patients with brain metastases from lung cancer, suggesting the role of the selected miRNAs in cancer metastasis to the CNS. However, while our analysis provides exploratory insights, the findings should be interpreted with caution and require validation in larger, independent cohorts before any clinical or translational implications can be established.

Mendelian randomization identifies circulating miRNAs as causal mediators of gastric cancer susceptibility and survival outcomes. (PubMed, Medicine (Baltimore))
This MR study establishes plasma miRNAs as causal mediators of gastric carcinogenesis, with miR-409-3p emerging as a key prognostic biomarker. The identified miRNA-target networks highlight actionable pathways for therapeutic intervention, bridging genetic epidemiology with functional genomics in GC precision oncology.

Effects of chemoradiotherapy on plasma oncogenic miRNAs as biomarkers in cervical cancer patients: A prospective observational study. (PubMed, Sci Prog)
No miRNAs showed significant associations with overall survival.ConclusionsCirculating miRNAs, especially hsa-miR-34a-5p, hsa-miR-409-3p, and hsa-miR-34c-5p hold promise as noninvasive biomarkers for monitoring treatment efficacy in CC. Larger studies are needed to validate these findings and clarify their prognostic value.

Circ_CIT Promotes Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Progression and Macrophage M2 Polarization Through miR-409-3p/ZEB1 Axis. (PubMed, Cancer Manag Res)
Highly expressed circ_CIT adsorbs miR-409-3p to upregulate ZEB1 expression, thereby promoting the proliferation and metastatic ability of NPC cells and activating macrophage M2 polarization. Therefore, circ_CIT may be a potential therapeutic target for NPC patients.

Profiling miRNA changes in Epstein-Barr virus lytic infection identifies a function for BZLF1 in upregulating miRNAs from the DLK1-DIO3 locus. (PubMed, PLoS Pathog)
In keeping with this timing, BZLF1 was sufficient to induce these lncRNAs dependent on its transactivation activity, and was detected at a key DLK1-DIO3 control element, consistent with a direct role in transcriptional activation. Therefore, we have identified a new role for BZFL1 in activating the expression of lncRNAs in the DLK1-DIO3 locus, resulting in induction of a subset of encoded miRNAs that promote lytic infection.

MIR155HG promotes metastasis and cisplatin resistance of cervical cancer cells by regulating the miR-409-3p and ZEB1 axis. (PubMed, Sci Rep)
In this study, we deeply explored the molecular and cellular functions of MIR155HG in CC cells. Our results highlight the important role and potential targeting value of MIR155HG in CC pathogenesis and development.

Down-regulation of circMUC16 inhibited the progression of ALL via interaction with miR-1182 and TPPP3. (PubMed, Ann Hematol)
Overexpression of TPPP3 partially counteracted the inhibitory effects of sh-circMUC16 inhibition on malignant behaviors of ALL cells. This study revealed that the circMUC16/miR-1186/TPPP3 axis plays a crucial role in the progression of ALL, suggesting a novel therapeutic target for ALL therapy.

RBM15 recruits myeloid-derived suppressor cells via the m6A-IGF2BP3/CBR3-AS1/miR-409-3p/CXCL1 axis, facilitating radioresistance in non-small-cell lung cancer. (PubMed, J Transl Med)
Our study identifies methyltransferase RBM15 as a potential therapeutic target for NSCLC radioresistance whose inhibition reverses resistance through limiting MDSC recruitment via the m6A-IGF2BP3-CBR3-AS1/miR-409-3p/CXCL1 axis.

lncRNA SNHG4 enhanced gastric cancer progression by modulating miR-409-3p/CREB1 axis. (PubMed, Oncol Res)
Additionally, miR-409-3p was also revealed to inhibit GC cell proliferation, migration, and invasion by targeting CREB1. In conclusion, we verified that the SNHG4 promoted GC growth and metastasis by binding to miR-409-3p to upregulate CREB1, which may deepen the understanding of the underlying mechanism in GC development.
