Molecular mechanism of LncRNA MALAT1 in regulating hepatocellular carcinoma progression via the miR-383-5p/PRKAG1 axis and its role in the tumor immune microenvironment. (PubMed, Front Oncol)
This study elucidates the oncogenic role of the MALAT1/miR-383-5p/PRKAG1 axis in HCC, demonstrating that PRKAG1 promotes tumor progression by regulating cell proliferation, the immune microenvironment, and key signaling pathways. These findings provide potential novel targets for HCC prognosis assessment and targeted therapy.

Synergistic Effect of miR-383 and Cisplatin on Inhibition of Growth, Proliferation, and Migration of Lung Cancer Cells. (PubMed, Arch Iran Med)
The findings indicate that the combination treatment of miR-383 and cisplatin suppressed cell proliferation, migration and colony formation while enhancing the sensitivity of A549 cells to chemotherapy compared to monotherapy. These results suggest that miR-383 combination therapy warrants further investigation as a potential strategy for LC treatment.

Using TR-qPCR, we evaluated the downstream impact of TCDD-dysregulated miRNAs on their target genes. Our results indicate that TCDD-induced upregulation of oncogenic miRNAs negatively regulates target genes associated with EOC, while downregulation of cancer-suppressor miRNAs positively regulates genes linked to EOC.

HIF-1α and VEGF Immunophenotypes as Potential Biomarkers in the Prognosis and Evaluation of Treatment Efficacy of Atherosclerosis: A Systematic Review of the Literature. (PubMed, Front Biosci (Landmark Ed))
We present an overview of HIF-1α/VEGF expression in chronic inflammatory-related atherosclerosis disease. Exploring pathogenetic mechanisms and therapeutic options, we included several studies using variable methods to evaluate HIF-1α/VEGF immunophenotypes with controversial and innovative results. Data limitations may include the use of different survival methods. Our data support HIF-1α/VEGF immunophenotypes as potential biomarkers of atherosclerosis prognosis and treatment efficacy.

EU suppressed MCF-10AT cell growth, decreasing the NEAT1, VEGF-A, and MMP-9 levels and increasing miR-383-5p and miR-9-5p expressions in vitro and in vivo. In summary, the EU reduced the VEGF-A and MMP-9 expressions via NEAT1-mediated miR-383-5p and miR-9-5p against PBL, indicating that the EU may be a promising external drug to act against PBL.

Curcumin exerts its anticancer effects on urogenital neoplasms by upregulating tumor suppressor microRNAs (miR-143, miR-145, miR-Let-7, miR-101, miR-3127, miR-3178, miR-1275, miR-3198, miR-1908, miR-770, miR-1247, miR-411, miR-34a, miR-383, miR-708, miR-483, miR-199a, miR-335, miR-503, miR-10b, miR-551a, miR-9, miR-203, miR-7110, miR-29b, and miR-126) and downregulating oncogenic microRNAs (miR-21, miR-210, miR-382, miR-654, miR-494, miR-193b, miR-671, miR-222, miR-23b, miR-664, miR-183, miR-214, miR-320a, miR-23a, miR-30a, miR-320d, miR-1285, miR-32, miR-181a, miR-205, miR-216a, miR-1246, and miR-106b). Cell proliferation is inhibited, and cell apoptosis is induced by curcumin in different urogenital cancers through suppressing oncogenic microRNAs or provoking tumor suppressor microRNAs.

In addition, miR-383-5p directly targeted the 3'UTR of SUSD2, with its ectopic expression inhibiting the growth and motility of bladder cancer cells. Our study revealed that miR-383-5p/SUSD2 axis dysfunction may contribute to a poor prognosis for bladder cancer by affecting cell growth, metastasis, and the tumor microenvironment.
