Expression and diagnostic potential of circulating miR-107, miR-134-5p, miR-149-5p, miR-370-3p, and miR-221 in prostate cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia: a preliminary study. (PubMed, Arch Ital Urol Androl)
This preliminary study demonstrated that miR-107, miR-134-5p, miR-149-5p, and miR-370-3p were significantly overexpressed in PCa patients compared to the BPH group. ROC analysis highlighted their diagnostic potential in distinguishing BPH from PCa. Despite the limited sample size, these findings provide early evidence to guide future research on the diagnostic value of miRNAs in prostate cancer.

Profiling miRNA changes in Epstein-Barr virus lytic infection identifies a function for BZLF1 in upregulating miRNAs from the DLK1-DIO3 locus. (PubMed, PLoS Pathog)
In keeping with this timing, BZLF1 was sufficient to induce these lncRNAs dependent on its transactivation activity, and was detected at a key DLK1-DIO3 control element, consistent with a direct role in transcriptional activation. Therefore, we have identified a new role for BZFL1 in activating the expression of lncRNAs in the DLK1-DIO3 locus, resulting in induction of a subset of encoded miRNAs that promote lytic infection.

CircCHAF1A induced cellular senescence by enhancing the stability of p21 to suppresses gastric cancer progression. (PubMed, Biochem Pharmacol)

The 26 compounds with abnormal concentrations and the levels of the microRNAs miR-33b-5p, miR-423-5p, miR-6843-3p, miR-4668-3p, miR-30c-5p, miR-6743-5p, miR-4742-5p, miR-1207-5p, and miR-17-5p in the urine were considered to be suitable as noninvasive diagnostic markers of OC.
