Identification of serum MicroRNAs associated with hepatic immunoinflammatory injury in chronic hepatitis B: implications for non-invasive diagnosis. (PubMed, Front Immunol)
We identify miR-224-5p as a fibroinflammatory activity indicator for early cirrhosis detection and miR-200a-3p as a synergistic enhancer of AFP for non-invasive HCC diagnosis, establishing a dual miRNA signature that spans the HBV disease continuum and addresses critical gaps in current risk stratification. These findings highlight the potential of specific serum miRNAs as non-invasive biomarkers for monitoring disease progression and improving the differential diagnosis during the process of HBV-related liver diseases.

Role of microRNAs in the regulation of RKIP and signaling pathways in cancer. (PubMed, Biochim Biophys Acta Rev Cancer)
All the data presented in the manuscript are supported by diverse experimental approaches, including transcriptional analyses, functional in vitro assays (migration, invasion, apoptosis), gain- and loss-of-function experiments, luciferase reporter assays, and in vivo xenograft models, further validating the miRNA-RKIP axis involved in the progression of multiple tumors. In conclusion, this review provides an integrated view of the complex post-transcriptional network governing RKIP regulation in cancer, underscoring the potential of targeting RKIP-associated non-coding RNA axes for innovative therapeutic strategies aimed at halting tumor progression and overcoming treatment resistance.

Hsa_circ_0101308 sponed miR-224 and suppressed its expression in HeLa cell line (P < 0.05), and either under-expressed m6A-adjusted hsa_circ_0101308 or over-expressed miR-224 strengthened viability of HeLa, HeLa/DDP, HeLa/ADM and HeLa/TAX cell lines (P < 0.05). Additionally, miR-224 targeted CADM1 and down-regulated its mRNA level (P < 0.05), which influenced p-PI3K/PI3K or p-Akt/Akt ratio (P < 0.05).ConclusionThe network combined by m6A-adjusted hsa_circ_0101308 and miR-224 interfered with chemo-resistance in CC via acting upon CADM1 and PI3K/AKT pathway, which was conducive to optimizing CC treatment.

Associations of blood RNA biomarkers and circulating tumour cells in patients with previously untreated metastatic colorectal cancer. (PubMed, BMC Cancer)
A correlation was identified between the levels of a subset of whole blood RNAs, including AGR2, ADAR1, and LGR5, and the number of bCTC and RAS/BRAF/PIK3 CA mutational status. Furthermore, another set of whole blood RNAs, specifically miR-106a-5p and miR-26a-5p, was found to be associated with poor prognosis. This may be helpful for risk stratification.

Additionally, differential expression of miR-27a, miR-221, and miR-224 in treatment-sensitive versus treatment-resistant patients indicated their predictive biomarker potential for treatment response of cervical cancer patients. Conclusively, this study has identified 18 promising miRNAs for the development of sensitizers for thermoradiotherapy and may provide potential biomarkers for predicting treatment response in locally advanced cancers.

Long-term aerobic exercise enhances liver health: miRNA regulation and oxidative stress alleviation. (PubMed, Biochem Biophys Res Commun)
We further found that inhibiting P38 MAPK can enhance cellular antioxidant and anti-inflammatory capabilities, reversing hepatocyte damage caused by hydrogen peroxide. These results demonstrate that long-term aerobic exercise can reprogram aging-related oxidative stress and metabolic pathology by regulating miRNAs and the P38 MAPK pathway, thereby helping to prevent age-related liver diseases.

Circulating miRNAs represent a promising avenue for the non-invasive diagnosis of RCC.
