Role and underlying mechanisms of miR‑200 family in breast cancer (Review). (PubMed, Int J Oncol)
Furthermore, members of the miR‑200 family have potential as diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers and are closely linked to chemotherapy resistance. The present review aims to provide novel insights and a theoretical foundation for the diagnosis, treatment, and deeper investigation of BC by comprehensively examining the functional mechanisms of the miR‑200.

Subcytotoxic Exposure to Avobenzone and Ethylhexyl Salicylate Induces microRNA Modulation and Stress-Responsive PI3K/AKT and MAPK Signaling in Differentiated SH-SY5Y Cells. (PubMed, Int J Mol Sci)
Overall, these findings indicate that AVO and EHS trigger an early stress-adaptive response involving PI3K/AKT and MAPK/ERK signaling and modulation of apoptosis-related pathways. Such responses reflect a dynamic balance between cellular adaptation and pro-apoptotic signaling, which may become relevant under prolonged or higher-intensity exposure conditions.

Differential Expression of Key Oncogenic and Tumor Suppressor MicroRNAs Induced by Andrographolide in Androgen-Independent PC3 and Androgen-Dependent LNCaP Prostate Cancer Cells. (PubMed, Genes (Basel))
Although HEK-293 cytotoxicity and previously reported nephrotoxic effects warrant caution, these results support the potential of andrographolide as an adjuvant phytochemical capable of modulating clinically relevant miRNAs in prostate cancer. Future studies investigating optimized delivery systems and validating direct miRNA targets may help advance andrographolide toward safer and more targeted therapeutic applications.

Identification of serum MicroRNAs associated with hepatic immunoinflammatory injury in chronic hepatitis B: implications for non-invasive diagnosis. (PubMed, Front Immunol)
We identify miR-224-5p as a fibroinflammatory activity indicator for early cirrhosis detection and miR-200a-3p as a synergistic enhancer of AFP for non-invasive HCC diagnosis, establishing a dual miRNA signature that spans the HBV disease continuum and addresses critical gaps in current risk stratification. These findings highlight the potential of specific serum miRNAs as non-invasive biomarkers for monitoring disease progression and improving the differential diagnosis during the process of HBV-related liver diseases.

Non-invasive Diagnostics in the Focus: The Importance of Salivary Biomarkers in Detecting Oral Cancer. (PubMed, Cureus)
Future research is focusing on integrated multi-omics strategies, the development of wearable real-time monitoring devices, and establishing regulatory frameworks to better facilitate clinical implementation. Addressing these issues may improve the reliability and accessibility of saliva-based diagnostics for OSCC, particularly in low-resource and high-risk populations.

Stage- and smoking-associated microRNA expression in lung adenocarcinoma. (PubMed, Transl Lung Cancer Res)
Among the miRNA alterations associated with stage I adenocarcinoma in nonsmokers, we found alterations in all 5 miR-200 family members (miR-200b, miR-200a, miR-141, miR-429, and miR-200c). Our identification of miRNA alterations associated with early-stage lung adenocarcinoma in nonsmokers, especially alterations in the miR-200 family, suggests that these miRNAs may play a unique role in the early stages of lung carcinogenesis and progression in nonsmokers and that they may be useful as markers for the early detection of lung cancer.

Evidence for a TMAO-HULC-miRNA regulatory axis in colorectal cancer cells. (PubMed, Int J Mol Cell Med)
These findings reveal a TMAO-HULC signaling axis that positively influences the levels of oncogenic miRNAs. However, since a single cell line model was used in this study, it needs for further investigation across diverse CRC cell lines to confirm its generalizability.

Circulating microRNAs as biomarkers for risk assessment and prognostic stratification of pleural mesothelioma. (PubMed, Lung Cancer)
Circulating miRNA signatures represent promising non-invasive biomarkers for early PM detection and prognostic stratification, particularly in epithelioid cases.
