Circulating microRNAs as Biomarkers of Brain Metastases in Lung Cancer: A Pilot Study. (PubMed, J Clin Med)
Notable differences in miRNA expression profiles were revealed for the patients with brain metastases from lung cancer, suggesting the role of the selected miRNAs in cancer metastasis to the CNS. However, while our analysis provides exploratory insights, the findings should be interpreted with caution and require validation in larger, independent cohorts before any clinical or translational implications can be established.

miR-194-5p targets SOCS2 to predict pegIFNα treatment response in HBeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B patients. (PubMed, Virol J)
miR-194-5p may predict pegIFNα response in HBeAg-positive CHB. It regulates interferon signaling by targeting SOCS2 and modulating the JAK-STAT pathway activation, suggesting the miR-194-5p/SOCS2 axis as a potential therapeutic target.

Serum miRNA and Metabolomic Signatures of Residential Radon Exposure in Chiang Mai, Thailand. (PubMed, Toxics)
Given the small sample size (n = 10), these findings should be interpreted as preliminary and hypothesis-generating, warranting validation in larger cohorts. Nevertheless, findings support household testing, remediation at ≥100 Bq/m3, and integrated exposure studies considering PM2.5 co-exposures.

Negative regulation of a new collectin-11/calreticulin-mediated NF-κB pathway by miR-194b-3p in antibacterial immunity of Takifugu obscurus. (PubMed, J Immunol)
Overexpression of TomiR-194b-3p downregulated ToCL-11, inhibited ToNF-κB nuclear translocation, and suppressed cytokine expression, whereas its knockdown elicited opposite effects. These results elucidate the immune regulatory function of ToCL-11 and its modulation by TomiR-194b-3p, underscoring their potential as therapeutic targets for enhancing immunity in aquaculture.

Cannabinoids shift the basal ganglia microRNA m6A methylation profile towards an anti-inflammatory phenotype in SIV-infected rhesus macaques. (PubMed, Commun Biol)
Further, compared to VEH/SIV/ART RMs, THC:CBD significantly reduced m6A methylation of 44 miRNAs directly involved in regulating CNS network genes. Our findings indicate that m6A epi-transcriptomic marks in the seed nucleotides can impair miRNA function and that cannabinoids may preserve it by reducing m6A methylation levels, thus providing a mechanistic explanation underlying their anti-neuroinflammatory effects in HIV/SIV infection.

Identification of Novel Hepatic Target Genes of miR-192-5p. (PubMed, Genes Cells)
These findings suggest that miR-192-5p exerts its tumor-suppressive function by inhibiting a novel gene network that may contribute to HCC progression. This study provides new insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying HCC heterogeneity and highlights miR-192-5p-regulated networks as potential therapeutic targets for HCC.

Characterization of microRNA Expression Profiles of Murine Female Genital Tracts Following Nippostrongylus brasiliensis and Herpes Simplex Virus Type 2 Co-Infection. (PubMed, Microorganisms)
This is the first study to provide insights into the FGT miRNA profiles following Nb and HSV-2 single and co-infection, as well as the predicted genes and pathways they regulate, which may influence host immunity and pathology. This study highlights the role of miRNAs in regulating FGT immunity and pathology in the context of STH/HSV-2 co-infection.

Association of Hsa_circ_0059511 with the sensitivity of the temozolomide chemotherapeutic treatment in human glioma cells. (PubMed, Sci Rep)
Rescue experiments established the hierarchical regulatory axis: miR-194-5p inhibition and FZD6 ablation partially reversed the TMZ-sensitizing effects of circ0059511 knockdown. Our work unveils the circ0059511/miR-194-5p/FZD6 axis as a central mediator of TMZ resistance in glioblastoma, providing a rationale for combinatorial therapeutic strategies to overcome chemoresistance.
