The role of MiRNA-mediated tumor microenvironment in bone metastasis from a multi-omics perspective: cross-cancer mechanisms and clinical translation. (PubMed, Front Oncol)
We further explored the translational potential of miRNA-based liquid biopsies (e.g., miR-141-3p and miR-34a) for diagnosing and prognosticating bone metastasis in breast, prostate, and lung cancers. Finally, this article looks ahead at how integrating multi-omics data with AI predictive models can overcome current delivery and safety challenges, advancing miRNA research towards the ultimate goal of precision medicine.

Label-free and isothermal multiplex detection of miRNAs using self-priming hairpin probes and light-up aptamer transcription. (PubMed, Anal Chim Acta)
The developed method reproduced the expected differential miR-21 patterns across cancer and normal cell lines using cell-derived RNA extracts, consistent with stem-loop RT-qPCR. Notably, the method requires only a single hairpin probe per target miRNA and operates in a label-free format, enabling streamlined multiplex readout with minimal mutual interference. This platform offers a practical route toward efficient multiplex miRNA profiling in bioanalytical and diagnostic settings.

Ultrasensitive and rapid lateral flow biosensor based on exponential rolling circle amplification for the detection of cancer biomarkers. (PubMed, Talanta)
The platform also demonstrated strong selectivity in human urine spiked with interfering miRNAs. Owing to its modular probe design, this system is readily adaptable to diverse nucleic acid targets, offering a rapid, sensitive, and field-deployable solution for early cancer screening and point-of-care diagnostics.

Changes in miR-21, -138, -141, -135 expression and apoptosis/necrosis levels in HCT116 colon cancer cells under 50 Hz ELF-EMF exposure at 0.4 and 0.8 mT. (PubMed, Electromagn Biol Med)
Conversely, the downregulation of miR-138 appeared to be a negative factor. Additionally, flow cytometry results demonstrated an increase in the rates of apoptosis and necrosis under the employed electromagnetic fields.

UHRF1 deficiency exacerbates intestinal inflammation by epigenetic modulation of NPY1R gene methylation. (PubMed, JCI Insight)
Furthermore, we identified miR-141 as a negative regulator of NPY1R, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic agent. Collectively, our results identified the UHRF1/NPY1R regulatory axis as a critical epigenetic mechanism in intestinal inflammation and underscored its dual promise for IBD diagnostics and therapy.

Stage- and smoking-associated microRNA expression in lung adenocarcinoma. (PubMed, Transl Lung Cancer Res)
Among the miRNA alterations associated with stage I adenocarcinoma in nonsmokers, we found alterations in all 5 miR-200 family members (miR-200b, miR-200a, miR-141, miR-429, and miR-200c). Our identification of miRNA alterations associated with early-stage lung adenocarcinoma in nonsmokers, especially alterations in the miR-200 family, suggests that these miRNAs may play a unique role in the early stages of lung carcinogenesis and progression in nonsmokers and that they may be useful as markers for the early detection of lung cancer.
