Overall, our investigation elucidates the temporal dynamic changes in host miRNAs and their potential target genes at the early, middle and late stages of E. multilocularis infection, which allows us to understand the roles of miRNAs in host-parasite interactions throughout infection and provides a reference for further studies of molecular pathogenesis and new drug or vaccine targets for control of AE.

By contrast, Nrf2 inhibits the miR-1247-5p expression, relieving its inhibitory effect on MMP15 and MMP17 to promote the EMT. Collectively, these results demonstrate that the EMT of HCC is likely prevented by Nrf1 via the miR-3187-3p signalling to SNAI1-CDH1/2 axis, but conversely promoted by Nrf2 through the miR-1247-5p-MMP15/17 signalling axis.

Both sensors showed high sensitivity and good selectivity, with detection limits of 4.94 and 6.61 pM for miR-1247-3p and FAP mRNA, respectively. Moreover, two sensors allowed us to image living cell postinvasion of tumor-derived exosomes, facilitating visual monitoring of fibroblast phenotype transformation and uncovering new perspectives on cancer metastasis development.

Tumour protein p53-activated lncRNA PGM5-AS1 suppresses lung cancer growth and stemness by targeting R-spondin1 via microRNA-1247-5p. (PubMed, Arch Physiol Biochem)
Elevating PGM5-AS1 or repressing miR-1247-5p restrained LC cell growth and stemness, which were reversed by depression of RSPO1. This study conveys that TP53-elevated PGM5-AS1 mediates miR-1247-5p to target RSPO1, thereby inhibiting LC growth and stemness, representing a novel avenue for LC therapy.

miR-1247-3p regulation of CCND1 affects chemoresistance in colorectal cancer. (PubMed, PLoS One)
The effectiveness of chemotherapy involving 5-fluorouracil and cisplatin (DDP) for the treatment of colorectal cancer (CRC) is often limited due to the emergence of drug resistance. By modulating CCND1, miR-1247-3p can effectively reduce drug resistance and promote apoptosis in CRC cells, suggesting that miR-1247-3p could potentially reduce chemotherapy resistance by targeting CCND1. These results highlight the pivotal role of miR-1247-3p in reducing chemotherapy resistance through the inhibition of CCND1, providing insight into a promising therapeutic strategy for overcoming CRC resistance.

Curcumin exerts its anticancer effects on urogenital neoplasms by upregulating tumor suppressor microRNAs (miR-143, miR-145, miR-Let-7, miR-101, miR-3127, miR-3178, miR-1275, miR-3198, miR-1908, miR-770, miR-1247, miR-411, miR-34a, miR-383, miR-708, miR-483, miR-199a, miR-335, miR-503, miR-10b, miR-551a, miR-9, miR-203, miR-7110, miR-29b, and miR-126) and downregulating oncogenic microRNAs (miR-21, miR-210, miR-382, miR-654, miR-494, miR-193b, miR-671, miR-222, miR-23b, miR-664, miR-183, miR-214, miR-320a, miR-23a, miR-30a, miR-320d, miR-1285, miR-32, miR-181a, miR-205, miR-216a, miR-1246, and miR-106b). Cell proliferation is inhibited, and cell apoptosis is induced by curcumin in different urogenital cancers through suppressing oncogenic microRNAs or provoking tumor suppressor microRNAs.

PTBP1-mediated biogenesis of circATIC promotes progression and cisplatin resistance of bladder cancer. (PubMed, Int J Biol Sci)
To study the properties of circATIC, sanger sequencing, agarose gel electrophoresis and treatment with RNase R/Actinomycin D were utilized. Finally, circATIC promotes RCC2 expression to enhance Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition (EMT) progression and activate JNK signal pathway, thus strengthening DDP resistance in BLca cells. Our study demonstrated that circATIC promoted BLca progression and DDP resistance, and could serve as a potential target for BLca treatment.

Gallic acid attenuates metastatic potential of human colorectal cancer cells through the miR-1247-3p-modulated integrin/FAK axis. (PubMed, Environ Toxicol)
Consistently, the in vivo xenograft model showed that GA administration inhibited tumor growth and liver metastasis derived from DLD-1 cells. Collectively, our findings indicated that GA inhibited the metastatic capabilities of CRC cells, which may result from the suppression of integrin/FAK axis mediated by miR1247-3p.
