The oncogenic lncRNA MIR503HG suppresses cellular senescence counteracting supraphysiological androgen treatment in prostate cancer. (PubMed, J Exp Clin Cancer Res)
The lncRNA MIR503HG acts as an oncogenic regulator in PCa by repressing cellular senescence. SAL-induced suppression of MIR503HG enhances the tumor-suppressive effects of AR signaling, suggesting that MIR503HG could serve as a biomarker for BAT responsiveness and as a target for combination therapies with PARP inhibitors.

Hsa-miR-503-5p regulates CTDSPL to accelerate cisplatin resistance and angiogenesis of lung adenocarcinoma cells. (PubMed, Chem Biol Drug Des)
Hsa-miR-503-5p bound to CTDSPL gene and promoted cisplatin resistance and malignant progression of LUAD cells by negatively regulating CTDSPL. Our results revealed that hsa-miR-503-5p and CTDSPL may be novel targets for overcoming cisplatin resistance in LUAD.

Mesenchymal stem cells shuttling miR-503 via extracellular vesicles enhance glioma immune escape. (PubMed, Oncoimmunology)

MIR503HG promotes esophageal squamous cell carcinoma cell proliferation, invasion and migration via hsa-miR-503 pathway (PubMed, Zhonghua Zhong Liu Za Zhi)
After knockdown of MIR503HG, overexpression of hsa-miR-503-3p and hsa-miR-503-5p attenuated the inhibitory effects of knockdown of MIR503HG on proliferation (P<0.001), invasion (P<0.01) and migration (P<0.001) of KYSE30 cells. MIR503HG promotes the proliferation, invasion and migration of ESCC cells by regulating hsa-miR-503 pathway and can be used as a new potential target for targeted therapy of ESCC.

As a result, we have been able to suggest a perspective-trained model involving a deep neural network based on both qPCR data for mRNA and miRNA and clinicopathological criteria that can be used for recurrence risk forecasts in patients with TMPRSS2-ERG-positive, locally advanced PCa (the model uses ALDH3A2 + ODF2 + QSOX2 + hsa-miR-503-5p + ISUP + pT, with an AUC = 0.944). In addition to the prognostic model's use of identified differentially expressed genes and miRNAs, miRNA-target pairs were found that correlate with the prognosis and can be presented as an interactome network.

Lastly, the over-expression of miR-503-induced increased sensitivity of ALL-resistant cells and CCRF/ CEM-R to dexamethasone was attenuated by overexpression of WNT3A. In conclusion, miR-503 targeted WNT3A mRNA to sensitize ALL cells to glucocorticoids through inactivation of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway.
