blood miRNAs and exosomal miRNAs exhibit distinct regulatory patterns concerning giant panda testicular tumor, potentially reflecting divergent biological processes in the disease's etiology. Meanwhile, miR-331-3p could be used as a potential diagnostic marker for giant panda testicular tumor. Our findings are conducive to the rapid clinical diagnosis of testicular tumor in giant pandas, and are also expected to provide scientific reference for further research on the pathogenesis of testicular tumor.

Deregulation of BID in malignant thyroid neoplasm (EACR 2023)
Co-expression analysis across 509 thyroid cancer tissues unveils an inverse correlation between miR-331-5p and BID. Interestingly, the proliferation marker KI67 is inversely correlated with miR-331-5p and positively correlated with the mRNA of BID.ConclusionThese altogether findings suggest that the altered expression of BID/miR-331-5p could be a novel potential candidate biomarker for the malignant thyroid neoplasm.

Overall, miR-331-3p in CAFs-derived EVs inhibits SCARA5 expression and activates the FAK pathway, thereby augmenting the progression of PC. Our study provides a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of PC.

The difference in body weight of the mice in probiotic administered, 5-fluorouracil treated and untreated groups of the mice showed no significant differences during 5-weeks of the study...Thus, probiotic administration inhibited colorectal tumor growth in vivo in mice possibly by upregulation of miR-331-3p expression and down-regulation of NRP2 level. Therefore, probiotics may be used for the treatment of colorectal cancer growth.

Fentanyl Inhibits Lung Cancer Viability and Invasion via Upregulation of miR-331-3p and Repression of HDAC5. (PubMed, Onco Targets Ther)
In addition, there was higher HDAC5 expression and lower miR-331-3p expression in tumor tissues which were isolated from patients with NSCLC compared to the adjacent normal tissues, and miR-331-3p was negatively correlated with HDAC5 in NSCLC tumor tissues. Fentanyl inhibits the viability and invasion of NSCLC cells by induction of miR-331-3p and reduction of HDAC5.

Overexpression of miR-331 Indicates Poor Prognosis and Promotes Progression of Breast Cancer. (PubMed, Oncol Res Treat)
As shown from our data, miR-331 may be a potential prognostic biomarker in breast cancer. Moreover, the development and progression of breast cancer may involve miR-331. These findings suggest a novel therapeutic target for the treatment of breast cancer.
