Our findings indicate that MTX may have a novel role as an established drug in p53 wild-type NSCLC tumor therapy by down-regulating miR-20b expression. These findings are expected to provide preclinical evidence for miR-20b-targeting NSCLC therapeutic strategies.

Exosomal miR-20b-5p Induces EMT and Enhances Progression in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Via TGFBR2 Downregulation. (PubMed, J Biochem Mol Toxicol)
In vitro and in vivo, exosomes with high levels of miR-20b-5p were linked to the progression of NSCLC. Our data suggest that exosomes with high levels of miR-20b-5p can increase development and metastasis of NSCLC cells by downregulating TGFBR2, which would serve as a predictive and diagnostic marker for NSCLC.

miR-20b-5p is a novel biomarker for detecting prostate cancer. (PubMed, Oncol Lett)
In conclusion, the present study demonstrated that miR-20b-5p was upregulated in PCa at the tissue and cellular levels, as well as in prostatic fluid exosomes. Therefore, miR-20b-5p may be a promising early diagnostic biomarker for PCa and an important tool to guide the decision-making of prostate biopsy.

The present study proved that miR-20b-5p promotes HCC cell proliferation, migration and invasion by inhibiting CPEB3 expression, which may provide a theoretical basis for the prognosis and treatment of HCC patients.

Prognostic Value of MicroRNA-20b in Acute Myeloid Leukemia. (PubMed, Front Oncol)
ORAI2, the gene with the strongest correlation with miR-20b, also had significant prognostic value in patients undergoing chemotherapy but not in the allo-HSCT group. In conclusion, our findings suggest that high miR-20b expression is a poor prognostic indicator for AML, but allo-HSCT may override its prognostic impact.
