Sudden bilateral vision loss in a child with LYRM7-related leukoencephalopathy. (PubMed, J AAPOS)
Whole exome sequencing showed a homozygous pathogenic variant in the LYRM7 gene (c.2T>C) known to cause mitochondrial complex III deficiency. Following initiation of mitochondrial cocktail therapy, his visual behavior improved.

Integrative single-cell and bulk RNA sequencing of lactate metabolism identifies PDP-1 as a prognostic biomarker in breast cancer. (PubMed, Int J Biol Macromol)
We classified BC samples into three subtypes, and established a lactate metabolism-related prognostic model based on six signature genes, with high predictive accuracy. PDP-1 may serve as a prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target in BC.

TNF-α induced NF-κB mediated LYRM7 expression modulates the tumor growth and metastatic ability in breast cancer. (PubMed, Free Radic Biol Med)
Further, in vivo studies using Infliximab, a monoclonal antibody against TNF-α showed decreased expression of LYRM7 in tumor tissue. Large scale breast cancer databases and human patient samples revealed that LYRM7 levels decreased in triple negative breast cancer patients compared to other subtypes and is determinant of survival outcome in patients. Our results indicate that TNF-α induced NF-κB is a critical regulator of LYRM7, a major factor for modulating mitochondrial functions under inflammatory conditions, which determines growth and survival of breast cancer cells.

Invasive Breast Cancer: miR-24-2 Targets Genes Associated with Survival and Sensitizes MDA-MB-231 Cells to Berberine. (PubMed, OMICS)
In all, this study reports on the novel target genes of miR-24-2 in invasive breast cancer/TNBC, and that miR-24-2 sensitizes MDA-MB-231 cells to berberine. These data lend evidence for the translational potentials of miR-24-2 for invasive breast cancer diagnostic and therapeutic innovation.
