Integrated bioinformatics screening and experimental validation: construction of a LUAD prediction model based on Treg-related genes. (PubMed, PeerJ)
The results showed that the expression of Treg surface markers in LUAD cells was increased, and the expression of SCN9A was decreased compared with that in normal lung epithelial cells. We identified the role of Treg-related genes in LUAD, constructed and verified a related prognostic model, and explored a potential therapeutic target, SCN9A, to provide a new perspective for the clinical treatment of LUAD.

Unraveling the Role of Leukotriene A4 Hydrolase in Hepatocellular Carcinoma: Implications for Targeted Therapy and Tumor Progression. (PubMed, Dig Dis Sci)
This study identifies LTA4H as a critical factor in HCC, suggesting its potential as a prognostic biomarker. The findings also highlight the promise of LTA4H inhibitors as a new approach for developing more effective treatments for liver cancer.

Downregulation of MGLL and microRNAs (miR-302b-5p, miR-190a-3p, miR-450a-2-3p) in non-small cell lung cancer: potential roles in pathogenesis. (PubMed, Nucleosides Nucleotides Nucleic Acids)
In conclusion, this study provides evidence for the potential role of MGLL and microRNAs (miR-302b-5p, miR-190a-3p, miR-450a-2-3p) in NSCLC. In subsequent studies, it was determined that MSRB3, FCER1G and LTB4R2 genes, especially the HTR4 gene, could be potential target genes for lung cancer.

Epigenomic Profiling Advises Therapeutic Potential of Leukotriene Receptor Inhibitors for a Subset of Triple-Negative Breast Tumors. (PubMed, Int J Mol Sci)
Other studies compare the effects of Montelukast and Zafirlukast (inhibitors of the cysteinyl leukotriene receptor, which is different from LTB4R/LTB4R2) on the MDA-MB-231 (TNBC) cell line, with high methylation and low expression levels of LTB4R...LY255283, Minocycline, Silibinin, Piceatannol, Mitiglinide, 1-Azakenpaullone, Carbetocin, and Pim-1-inhibitor-2 can be considered as candidates for the additional treatment of TNBC patients with tumors demonstrating LTB4R/LTB4R2 hypomethylation/upregulation. Finally, our results suggest that the epigenetic status of leukotriene B4 receptors is a novel, potential, predictive, and prognostic biomarker for TNBC. These findings might improve individualized therapy for TNBC patients by introducing new therapeutic adjuncts as anticancer agents.

Comprehensive Analyses Revealed Eight Immune Related Signatures Correlated With Aberrant Methylations as Prognosis and Diagnosis Biomarkers for Kidney Renal Papillary Cell Carcinoma. (PubMed, Clin Genitourin Cancer)
The risk assessment model constructed by those 8 DEGs was well able to predict the prognosis and diagnose of KIRP. However, whether the prognosis and diagnosis model could be applied in clinical practice requires further study.
