Neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio may predict efficacy of anti-PD-1 inhibitors in advanced EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer: retrospective cohort study. (PubMed, Sci Rep)
Further investigation revealed that front-line TKIs exposure may contribute to the elevation or decrease of NLR, and finally lead to different efficacy outcomes by anti-PD-1 inhibitors. The findings suggest that a portion of advanced NSCLC patients with low NLR characteristics (NLR ≤ 4), even those harboring EGFR-sensitive mutations, could benefit from anti-PD-1 inhibitors as further line treatment after progression to EGFR-TKIs.

Clinical factors associated with the therapeutic efficacy of atezolizumab plus bevacizumab in patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma: A multicenter prospective observational study. (PubMed, PLoS One)
Severe adverse events (grade ≥3) were observed in 96 patients (36.0%), with proteinuria being the most frequent. In conclusion, patients with older age, lower number of intrahepatic tumors, absent macrovascular invasion, and lower neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio are expected to have better progression-free survival with atezolizumab plus bevacizumab therapy for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma.

A systematic review and meta-analysis of prognostic indicators in patients with head and neck malignancy treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors. (PubMed, J Cancer Res Clin Oncol)
In our meta-analysis, different immune checkpoint factors were associated with different prognoses in HNSCC patients receiving immunotherapy. HPV, PD-L1, BMI, Alb, HPD, PS, GPS/mGPS, LDH, NLR, and PLR predicted the ICI outcome in HNSCC patients.

Eribulin is an immune potentiator in breast cancer that upregulates human leukocyte antigen class I expression via the induction of NOD-like receptor family CARD domain-containing 5. (PubMed, Cancer Sci)
The eribulin and TCR-T combined therapy model revealed that eribulin and immunotherapy using TCR-T cells has a synergistic effect. In summary, eribulin increases the expression of HLA class 1 via HLA class 1 transactivatior NLRC5 and eribulin combination with immunotherapy can be effective for the treatment of breast cancer.

Risk factors for symptomatic malignant pleural effusion recurrence in patients with actionable mutations in advanced lung adenocarcinoma. (PubMed, Transl Lung Cancer Res)
The findings herein indicated the characteristics of specific patients at high risk for MPE recurrence in lung adenocarcinoma. Patients with actionable mutations benefit more in MPE recurrence and could benefit from targeted therapy and active intrapleural management.
