Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high-grade serous ovarian cancer. (PubMed, Mol Oncol)
Further, KRT19 could contribute to paclitaxel resistance. Altogether, KRT19 represents a potential independent prognostic marker and therapeutic target to inhibit metastatic dissemination.

KeratoDynamics of transdifferentiation and dyskeratosis in odontogenic keratocysts. (PubMed, Odontology)
The collective expression of these markers defines the KeratoDynamics panel, which encapsulates the continuum between proliferation, lineage reprogramming, and keratinization that underlies OKC pathogenesis. This integrative approach enhances diagnostic precision, aids in recurrence prediction, and offers new perspectives for biologically guided management of odontogenic keratocysts.

CYFRA 21-1 as a circulating biomarker in non-small cell lung cancer. (PubMed, Clin Chim Acta)
We propose practical solutions for laboratory reporting and ordering challenges, including the integration of imaging and tissue diagnostics, preference for within-platform serial monitoring, and use of interpretive comments, all aimed at ensuring quality assurance and assay harmonization. Serum CYFRA 21-1 can be utilized in practical laboratory use of NSCLC by including standardized measurement, a locally verified decision limit, interpretation based on context with incorporation of stage and histology, and other biomarkers.

Clinical Significance of Cytokeratin 19-Fragments (CYFRA 21-1), Osteopontin (OPN) and Human Epididymis Protein 4 (HE4) in Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma. (PubMed, Int J Mol Sci)
Further, the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis identified CA 19-9 as the biomarker with the highest diagnostic accuracy, while CYFRA 21-1, OPN, and HE4 did not reach clinically meaningful results. Further, the CYFRA 21-1 levels were significantly higher in cases subjected to significant weight loss before admission.

Monthly Biological Variation of Five Lung Cancer Markers in Healthy Older Individuals: Evidence from Combined Prospective Cohort and Real-World Data Analyses. (PubMed, Ann Lab Med)
Stable monthly variation enables flexible monitoring protocols. Our findings support implementing personalized RCVs for clinical interpretation and facilitate earlier therapeutic interventions for aging individuals.

A composite immune-nutritional and tumor marker score predicts outcomes in LA-ESCC treated with neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy and surgery. (PubMed, Discov Oncol)
The GCF score-a composite of GINI, CYFRA 21 - 1, and FARI-independently predicts DFS and pathological response following nCIT and surgery in LA-ESCC, and may hold potential as a practical, blood-based biomarker. Its integration significantly enhances predictive model performance and may aid in individualized patient risk stratification.

Clinical value of CTCs combined with serum tumor markers/inflammatory cytokines for the early diagnosis of non-small cell lung cancer. (PubMed, Immunobiology)
The integration of CTCs with serum tumor markers and/or inflammatory cytokines provides high sensitivity and specificity for the diagnosis of early-stage NSCLC, highlighting its significant clinical potential.

Longitudinal Analysis of CYFRA 21-1 Levels in Patients with Pulmonary Nodules: Differential Trajectories Between Benign and Malignant Cases and Impact of Tumor Resection. (PubMed, medRxiv)
These findings suggest that longitudinal monitoring of CYFRA 21-1-analogous to PSA velocity in prostate cancer- may offer improved diagnostic and prognostic insight in the evaluation of pulmonary nodules. Further studies in larger cohorts are warranted to validate these findings and explore clinical implementation of CYFRA trajectory analysis.

LungPanelNet: a machine learning-based approach for the early prediction and differentiation of non-small cell lung cancer. (PubMed, Front Oncol)
Our findings demonstrate that a machine learning model integrating a panel of serum tumor markers can effectively distinguish NSCLC from a spectrum of benign pulmonary conditions with high accuracy. This approach shows promise as a clinical decision-support tool, though further validation in larger, prospective, multi-center cohorts is warranted. This was a retrospective cohort study without clinical trial registration.

SMARCB-1-Positive Rhabdoid Squamous Cell Carcinoma Following Liver Transplant: Systematic Review and Unique Case Report. (PubMed, Am J Dermatopathol)
Immunohistochemistry demonstrated positivity for INI-1, EMA (focal), and CK5/6, with negative staining for desmin, CK18, and CK19.This case highlights the distinct clinical and pathological manifestations of SCCR and underscores the potential for its development following immunosuppression. Increased awareness of this rare and aggressive entity is crucial for timely diagnosis and management.

Aflatoxin Mixture-Driven Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma in Rats Involving G1/S Checkpoint Dysregulation. (PubMed, Toxins (Basel))
Subchronic exposure to an AFB1-dominant AF mixture in rats was associated with iCCA characterized by high proliferative activity, p53 accumulation, and disruption of G1/S checkpoint components. These findings broaden the oncogenic spectrum of AFs and warrant genomic confirmation of AF mutational signatures.
