This is the first WES study to identify BC-associated genetic variants in Vietnamese patients, providing a comprehensive database of BC susceptibility gene variants. We suggest using WES as a tool to identify genetic variants in BC patients for risk prediction and treatment guidance.

LINC00606 promotes glioblastoma progression through sponge miR-486-3p and interaction with ATP11B. (PubMed, J Exp Clin Cancer Res)
Overall, the LINC00606/miR-486-3p/TCF12/ATP11B axis is involved in the regulation of GBM progression and plays a role in tumor regulation at transcriptional and post-transcriptional levels primarily through LINC00606 sponging miR-486-3p and targeted binding to ATP11B. Therefore, our research on the regulatory network LINC00606 could be a novel therapeutic strategy for the treatment of GBM.

Such inhibition on PDAC progression is also achieved through increasing H3K4me1 level by GSK-LSD1, a selective inhibitor of lysine-specific demethylase 1 (LSD1). Taken together, these findings reveal a new mechanism underlying PDAC progression and provide potential therapeutic targets for PDAC treatment.

Intrinsic deletion at 10q23.31, including the PTEN gene locus, is aggravated upon CRISPR-Cas9-mediated genome engineering in HAP1 cells mimicking cancer profiles. (PubMed, Life Sci Alliance)
As in HAP1 cells, the deletion contributed to similar gene expression patterns among cancer patients despite interindividual differences. Our findings suggest that the unintended deletion of 10q23.31 can confound CRISPR-Cas9 studies and underscore the importance to assess unintended genomic changes in CRISPR-Cas9-modified cells, which could impact cancer research.

The clinical samples of TNBC confirmed SEAS1 was correlated inversely with lymphatic and distant metastasis. In conclusion, our findings reveal a novel pathway for TNBC progression via SMAD3/lncRNA SEAS1/miR-3940-3p/KLLN axis, and suggest that SEAS1 may serve as a potential biomarker and therapeutic target for TNBC.

t(10;12)(q24;q15): A new cytogenetic marker in hematological malignancies. (PubMed, Cancer Genet)
We reviewed the literature to determine whether this chromosome abnormality had previously been described in other hematological patients and found two cases: an aggressive T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma (T-LBL) and a case of transformed chronic myeloproliferative syndrome (CMS), in both of which t(10;12)(q24;q15) was also the only karyotype change. The clinical evolution of all four cases suggested that t(10;12)(q24;q15) is associated with a poor outcome in oncohematological patients.

p53-mediated G1 arrest requires the induction of both p21 and Killin in human colon cancer cells. (PubMed, Cell Cycle)
Immunoprecipitation studies indicated that Killin may directly bind to proteasome subunits, thereby disrupting proteasomal degradation of p21. Together, these results demonstrate that Killin is involved in multiple cell cycle checkpoint controls, including p53-mediated G1 arrest.

circAMOTL1L Suppresses Renal Cell Carcinoma Growth by Modulating the miR-92a-2-5p/KLLN Pathway. (PubMed, Oxid Med Cell Longev)
Conclusively, our findings demonstrate that circAMOTL1L has an antioncogenic role in RCC growth by modulating the miR-92a-2-5p-KLLN pathway. Thus, targeting the novel circAMOTL1L-miR-92a-2-5p-KLLN regulatory axis might provide a therapeutic strategy for RCC.
