    De novo monocytic-M5b AML with t(8;16) (p11.2; p13.3) KAT6A/CREBBP fusion and FLT3-TKD mutation complicated by chemotherapy-induced Takotsubo cardiomyopathy. (PubMed, BMJ Case Rep)
    Our patient died in 6 months from the date of diagnosis. Although a rare occurrence, it has been discussed in literature to identify t(8;16) as a separate subtype of AML due to unique characteristics.

    AML-336 De Novo M5b AML With t(8;16) (p11.2; p13.3) KAT6A/CREBBP Fusion and FLT3-TKD Mutation: Analysis of Mitelman Database. (PubMed, Clin Lymphoma Myeloma Leuk)
    Mitelman database analysis reveals that a vast majority of cases with t(8;16) are either M4 or M5 AML. Careful consideration of treatment options would be recommended based on age as chromosomal abnormalities play a major role in prognosis, especially with t(8;16).
