Current status of cancer genomic profiling (CGP) tests in brain tumor treatment - complementing brain tumor pathological diagnosis with CGP- (SNO 2024)
Molecular diagnostics through CGP testing served as an aid in diagnosis according to WHO2021. Cases where drug suggestions were feasible underwent treatment with targeted molecular therapies and checkpoint inhibitor. We experienced cases where hereditary cancer syndromes such as Lynch syndrome were diagnosed through the detection of germline pathogenic variants.

Evolving therapeutic landscape of advanced biliary tract cancer: from chemotherapy to molecular targets. (PubMed, ESMO Open)
In addition to the most common alterations such as isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 or 2 (IDH1/2) mutations, fibroblast growth factor receptor 2 (FGFR2) fusions, and alterations, we will also discuss less frequently encountered alterations such as BRAF V600E mutation and neurotrophic tyrosine kinase receptor gene (NTRK) fusion. We highlight the importance of molecular profiling in guiding therapeutic decisions and emphasize the need for continued research to optimize and expand targeted treatment strategies for this aggressive malignancy.

Molecular Testing in Gliomas: What is Necessary in Routine Clinical Practice? (PubMed, Curr Oncol Rep)
MGMT promoter methylation testing is the most established molecular marker for response to temozolomide in IDH wild-type glioblastoma and in turn impacts overall survival. Moreover, identification of certain mutations and molecular markers, such as BRAF V600E, hypermutation or elevated tumor-mutational burden and NTRK fusions allow for the use of FDA approved agents that are tumor-agnostic. Finally, molecular testing opens options for clinical trials that are essential for diseases with limited treatment options like gliomas.
