CircRAPGEF5 Promotes LUAD by Mediating the HOXC6 Stability. (PubMed, FASEB J)
Collectively, our findings indicated that circRAPGEF5 facilitates LUAD progression and metastasis by stabilizing HOXC6 mRNA via HNRNPC and promoting HOXB2 transcription. These results suggest that targeting circRAPGEF5 and HOXC6 can be a promising approach for LUAD treatment.

Epigenetic regulation of HOXA2 expression affects tumor progression and predicts breast cancer patient survival. (PubMed, Cell Death Differ)
Specifically, depletion of HOXA2 leaded to a concomitantly decreased expression of PPARγ and its target CIDEC, a master regulator of lipid droplet (LD) accumulation, thereby resulting in reduced LD abundance in BC cells. In summary, our study identifies HOXA2 as a novel prognosis-relevant tumor suppressor in the mammary gland.

Our findings showed that HOXB2 acts as a tumor promoter in NPC, activating malignant behaviors and radioresistance of tumors via FOXO1 regulation. Moreover, the inactivation of HOXB2 or activation of FOXO1 are potential strategies to inhibit tumor progression and overcome radioresistance in NPC.

The homeoprotein HOXB2 limits triple-negative breast carcinogenesis via extracellular matrix remodeling. (PubMed, Int J Biol Sci)
Further, we found the long non-coding RNA HOXB-AS1 in complex with SMYD3, a lysine methyltransferase, as an epigenetic switch controlling HOXB2 expression. Overall, our results indicate a tumor-suppressive role of HOXB2 by maintaining ECM organization and delineate potential clinical utility of HOXB2 as a marker for TNBC patients.
