Long non-coding RNA HOTAIR regulates the stemness of breast cancer cells via activation of the NF-κB signaling pathway. (PubMed, J Biol Chem)
Our data suggest that HOTAIR-mediated NF-κB signaling primes breast CSC self-renewal and tumor propagation. In sum, we have identified HOTAIR-based NF-κB signaling regulatory circuit that promotes tumorigenic activity in breast cancer stem cells, further indicating that HOTAIR could be a promising target for clinical treatment of breast cancers.

Correlations of HOTAIR expression with pathological stage, CT characteristics and prognosis of patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma. (PubMed, J BUON)
The expression level of HOTAIR is distinctly increased in PTC tissues and has a positive correlation with the pathological stage and poor prognosis of patients. HOTAIR can serve as a diagnostic or prognostic marker for patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma.
