HLA-A+ tertiary lymphoid structures with reactivated tumor infiltrating lymphocytes are associated with a positive immunotherapy response in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. (PubMed, Br J Cancer)
HLA-A+ TLSs are present in ESCC tumor tissues. TLS-resident TIL-Ts with elevated expression of the APM signature may be reactivated. HLA-A+ TLSs and their major cellular components, TIL-Ts and TIL-Bs, may serve as biomarkers for ICB-treated ESCC patients.

Gender Disparities in Allograft Access Due to HLA-Sensitization in Multiparous Women: Implications for Evaluation of Female Patients for Alternative Donor Transplantation (ASH 2023)
Over 10% of transplanted pts were broadly & highly sensitized to HLA. The HLA-Ab burden was predominantly in parous females (33% of our pt cohort), most of whom had HLA-Abs with one-third of this group being both broadly & highly sensitized. Moreover, pts with a high HLA-Ab burden were the least likely to receive haplos, & thus these transplants were less common in multiparous females.

Tebentafusp reprograms immunosuppressive tumor-associated M2 macrophages towards anti-tumoral M1 macrophages (ESMO 2023)
Conclusions ImmTAC-mediated redirection of T cells reprograms pro-tumoral M2 macrophages towards anti-tumoral M1 macrophages in vitro and in tebentafusp-treated mUM patients. These results demonstrate how tebentafusp re-shapes the tumor microenvironment to enhance the anti-tumor activity of T cells.
