Recurrent intermittent hyponatremia: A new experimental model. (PubMed, PLoS One)
RIH is a novel animal model that suggests there can be significant water retention after only a few hours of hyponatremia a day provided this situation is repeated over time. Such water retention translates into a greater brain water accumulation and astroglial activation in the GM.

Pediatric Myoepithelial Carcinoma of the Hand: A Case Report. (PubMed, JBJS Case Connect)
Myoepithelial carcinomas of the soft tissue are extremely rare, yet highly aggressive tumors with a tendency for local recurrence and metastasis. Timely diagnosis and treatment are a multidisciplinary challenge paramount for optimizing patient outcomes.

NanoScript-Enabled Nonviral Transient Repression of Phosphatase and Tensin Homolog for Axonal Regeneration and Central Nervous System Injury Repair. (PubMed, ACS Nano)
Importantly, PTEN expression partially rebounded by DPI-28, aligning with the intended transient activity window of the nanoscript system and supporting its translational safety. Through this combination of precise, nonintegrative gene modulation and broad downstream remodeling, NS-PTEN addresses both intrinsic neuronal limitations and extrinsic inhibitory features of the SCI microenvironment.

Cell surface topography differs in the human "glia-like" and glioma cultures. (PubMed, Neoplasma)
SEM could be a valuable method for distinguishing normal and tumor cells in short-term glioblastoma cultures, which have similar morphologies at light microscopy and immunophenotypes. We conclude that microvilli are characteristic of a specific tumor cell surface topography compared to "glia-like" cells.

Pathological features and clinical outcomes of hemangioblastoma in the spinal cord of three dogs. (PubMed, J Vet Med Sci)
Immunohistochemically, neoplastic stromal cells were immunolabeled for glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), neuron specific antigen (NSE), and vimentin, and capillary endothelia and vessel walls were immunolabeled for CD31 and smooth muscle actin (SMA). Postoperative follow-up revealed improvements in neurological symptoms and no evidence of tumor recurrence for 3 months to 3 years, suggesting that surgical excision is a beneficial treatment method.

Influence of syringic acid on schizophrenia in mice: Modulation of PI3K/AKT1/GSK3β signaling pathway, galectin-3 and MBP. (PubMed, Int Immunopharmacol)
Moreover, SA relieved histopathological alterations in the brain induced by CPZ. The above findings suggest that SA could ameliorate CPZ-induced psychotic symptoms in mice via suppressing neuroinflammation and promoting myelin integrity, perhaps providing further benefits to people suffering from schizophrenia.

An update on the developments and challenges with the diagnosis and classification of autoimmune optic neuritis. (PubMed, Expert Rev Neurother)
Real-world improvements will depend on standardized diagnostic pathways integrating orbital magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), high-quality antibody assays, OCT, and visual evoked potentials (VEP). Fluid biomarkers such as serum neurofilament light chain (sNfL) and serum glial fibrillary acidic protein (sGFAP), together with AI-supported analytics, may refine risk estimates, especially in seronegative cases.

The protective effect of neurointerventional recanalization on the neurovascular unit in acute ischemic stroke and its correlation with serum GFAP and NfL levels. (PubMed, Front Neurol)
Successful recanalization with MT is associated with mitigated axonal injury, astrocyte activation, and neuroinflammation, findings consistent with better preservation of NVU integrity. Serum NfL and GFAP represent promising biomarkers for predicting stroke prognosis and tailoring therapeutic strategies.

Treatment with Neuronal-Induced Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells Improves Functional Recovery of Acute Spinal Cord Injury through Attenuating Astrogliosis and Neurotoxic Astrocyte Activation. (PubMed, J Korean Neurosurg Soc)
The modulation of astrogliosis was likely to be achieved through selective suppression of detrimental A1 astrocytes, potentially via STAT3 signaling. However, the protective effect of NI-hADSCs on astrogliosis diminished during the subacute SCI period and was spatially restricted to the perilesional area.

Oxoglutarate dehydrogenase-like may alleviate the inflammatory response process of epilepsy by inhibiting JAK/STAT signaling pathway through upregulating collagen type IV alpha 2. (PubMed, Cytojournal)
The effect of OGDHL overexpression on reducing epileptic inflammatory response was further demonstrated through the intervention of α7nAchR, which serves as an agonist in the JAK/STAT signaling pathway. ODGHL overexpression may inhibit the JAK/STAT signaling pathway by upregulating COL4A2 expression, and it inhibited the IL-1β-induced inflammation of CTX-TNA cells in an epileptic model.

Electron Accelerator-Enhanced Au Nanoclusters Electrochemiluminescence for Ultrasensitive Detection of Low-Expression Protein Based on DNA Hybridization Correctional Immunoreaction. (PubMed, Anal Chem)
Meanwhile, it displayed a higher positive/negative predictive value and a lower false positive/negative rate compared to those of the traditional sandwich immunoassay method. This strategy proposed a new electron accelerator-enhanced ECL emission of metal NCs for ultrasensitive protein detection through DNA hybridization correctional immunoreaction, displaying promising potential for applications in clinical diagnostics.
