Comparative Transcriptomic Analysis of Male and Female Gonads in Hemibagrus guttatus (Lacepède). (PubMed, Animals (Basel))
From the DEG set, we further highlighted five genes with pronounced sex-biased expression: rbm46 (RNA Binding Motif Protein 46) exhibited gonad-specific expression, whereas myc (v-myc avian myelocytomatosis viral oncogene homolog), angptl4 (Angiopoietin-Like 4), sox9 (SRY-Related HMG-Box Gene 9), and fzd2 (Frizzled Class Receptor 2) showed marked expression differences between male and female gonads. These findings provide insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying sex differentiation in H. guttatus, offer potential molecular markers for sex identification, and establish a scientific basis for germplasm conservation and the optimization of breeding techniques.

Elucidating the multiscale mechanisms and therapeutic targets of caffeic acid in gastric cancer: a synergy of computational and experimental approaches. (PubMed, Front Mol Biosci)
This study confirmed that caffeic acid regulates FZD2 expression and inhibits the activation of the noncanonical Wnt5a/Ca2+/NFAT signaling pathway, thereby interfering with gastric cancer-related pathological processes. These findings reveal the molecular mechanism of caffeic acid in gastric cancer and reflect the value of natural products in cancer research.

The Significance of the Wnt/β-Catenin Pathway and Related Proteins in Gastrointestinal Malignancies. (PubMed, Int J Mol Sci)
In pancreatic cancer samples, overexpression of Wnt ligands, FZD receptors, and β-catenin is associated with the presence of distant metastasis and poor clinical outcomes. In conclusion, this pathway represents a promising avenue for identifying novel diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic biomarkers in GI cancers, warranting further clinical investigation.

Pan-cancer profiling of FZD2 as a prognostic biomarker: integrative multi-omics analysis with experimental validation and functional characterization in gastric cancer. (PubMed, Front Pharmacol)
FZD2 is widely upregulated in various tumor types, with its expression closely associated with key clinical outcomes, including overall survival, disease-specific survival, disease-free interval, as well as tumor mutations, drug sensitivity, immune cell infiltration, and immunotherapy-related biomarkers such as TMB and MSI. These findings highlight the pivotal role of FZD2 in cancer prognosis and treatment, offering potential for novel therapeutic approaches and the development of personalized medicine strategies in oncology.

Curcumin-Induced Molecular Mechanisms in U-87 MG Glioblastoma Cells: Insights from Global Gene Expression Profiling. (PubMed, Molecules)
Curcumin, a major phytochemical derived from Curcuma longa, has been shown to enhance the efficacy of chemotherapeutic agents such as doxorubicin, 5-fluorouracil, and cisplatin by overcoming drug resistance, making it a promising adjunct in the treatment of glioblastoma. Several pro-apoptotic and anti-BCL, cell-cycle-regulated genes were modulated following curcumin treatment, emphasizing its potential role in curcumin-mediated anti-tumor effects. This study provides insight into the molecular mechanisms underlying curcumin's action against glioblastoma.

m6A modification-dependent upregulation of WNT2 facilitates M2-like macrophage polarization and perpetuates malignant progression of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. (PubMed, Oncogene)
The research reveals that WNT2 is upregulated in an m6A modification-dependent manner and promotes M2-like macrophages polarization of TAMs and malignant progression of NPC. This discovery provides novel potential molecular markers and therapeutic targets for the diagnosis and treatment of NPC.

DNA Methylation Analysis of Commpass Reveals Distinct Epigenetic Programs of High-Risk Disease (ASH 2024)
"Finally, consistent with DNA hypomethylation reflecting the proliferative history of MM, the PR subtype had the most pronounced DNA hypomethylation. Notably, the PR subtype had reduced DNAm at E2F1 motifs and E2F1 exclusively bound unmethylated regions of the genome, suggesting the DNAm restricts the proliferative program of high-risk MM."
