Estrogen receptor alpha (ESR1) gene polymorphism (rs2234693 and rs2046210) with breast cancer risk in pashtun population of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. (PubMed, Mol Biol Rep)
It is concluded that ESR1-rs2234693 is not associated with breast cancer, while rs2046210 is significantly associated with the risk of breast cancer in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa population. Further, to confirm the exact situation of ESR1 polymorphism, ESR1 existing and other SNPs need to be investigated in diverse data sets.

Association between ESR1 rs2234693 single nucleotide polymorphism and uterine fibroids in Taiwanese premenopausal and postmenopausal women. (PubMed, J Health Popul Nutr)
The TC and CC genotypes of the ESR1 rs2234693 variant may reduce susceptibility to UFs, especially in premenopausal women.

Association of ESR1 gene polymorphisms with the susceptibility to Hepatitis B virus infection and the clinical outcomes. (PubMed, J Med Virol)
Haplotype C-G-G was associated with significantly increased risk of HBV persistence (OR=1.37, 95%CI=1.08-1.73), while it was opposite for C-A-G and T-G-G (OR=0.41, 95%CI=0.27-0.62; OR=0.53, 95%CI=0.32-0.85, respectively). These results imply that combinations of these ESR1 polymorphisms may be valuable for the prediction of HBV persistence.

ESR1 PvuII polymorphism: from risk factor to prognostic and predictive factor of the success of primary systemic therapy in advanced breast cancer. (PubMed, BMC Cancer)
The ESR1 PvuII TC + CC genotypes confer poor prognosis in advanced breast cancer, but these genotypes could be regarded as a good predictor of the therapeutic effect of hormonal treatment.
